Hooker Benefiting From King And Jackson.

Amani Hooker has put in a great but somewhat quiet year. It seems for how good he was, he really performed under the covers, if you will. During the season, he'd play a game then when the week was over be announced the BIG player of the week. He was so solid but performed in a inconspicuous nature. This changed a bit as the season went on and he was more recognized at the end. He just had a very solid year and very deserving.

I heard on the radio last night and it has been stated he could be pegged as a high draft pick such as in lower 1 or high 2 round. I can't help but think he may have gotten a good boost from the success that King and Jackson have had the past couple years (NFL ready to contribute right away - King making pro-bowl etc.) and the reputation Iowa has now at developing nice sized, ball hawking corners. In addition, defenses in the NFL have evolved over the years with teams now playing a lot of nickel and dime so these players are in real need, supply and demand. Hence, this is why their draft stock is higher than at other positions.

Hyde and King have done well in the NFL after staying their senior years in college and being drafted in the lower rounds.

Jackson had kind of a miserable rookie year in the NFL, but still played a lot because the Packers had nobody better.

Not saying Jackson should have stayed at Iowa another year, but I am not sure that Jackson helps Hooker's case.
