Honest Opinion

People are making too much about officials during Iowa losses. Each and every game has questionable calls both ways. Coaches and players need to be able to adjust to different crews accordingly.

I'm also tired of the blame game on the refs.

We aren't a bad team Ted, We arent a GREAT team either..but if you think we aren't a GOOD team I'm surprised you didn't commit suicide during the Lickliter years

100% agree with you as well as metahawk. Bad teams don't go on the road to the #4 team in the nation and control the game for the 1st half. Doesn't happen. There are some certain shots that great teams make and bad teams can't even take; Iowa takes all those shots and misses them all. We are not great but are somewhat close.

Not to switch topics but if I was Aaron White I would be like "give me the ball" as he seemed poised to dominate in the second half and ciuld have forced tge 5th foul on 2 different players but the guards stopped giving him the ball.

Wisconsin made all the critical plays tonight that they had to make...it's as simple as that. They made 7-10 three during a critical stretch of the second half...that's 70% for the slower posters on the board. They also made free throws. Fran hurt his team tonight...he may have been trying to tell his team he's with them...but we should be further along there than that. On our floor it will be a different outcome.

I agree with another poster...I'm not sure what the officials are trying to do with fouls to the basket. So many of our drives to the basket would have been fouls on Wisconsin in other games. They also let some of it go on the other end for us. That's not consistency and that's why this got a bit out of hand.

I'm not trying to be critical, but we need more production out of Gessell and Sapp. Mike was taking the ball to the basket hard...but when you aren't making free throws, the benefit isn't there other than the foul.

It's life in the big ten on the road. Generally a hostile crowd is going to intimidate the officials enough that the questionable call are going to go the way of the home team. If it doesn't go that way then the fans aren't doing their job. We will beat these guys at home and on a neutral floor. Wouldn't mind seeing them in the tourney just so we can knock them out of it. We are the better team but the home court was the difference maker for them tonight....... as it should be. Fran needs to get better control of his emotions. It does no good to blow up like that.

they showed how you make free throws at the end of the game which doesn't allow the other team to come back.. its really that simple.

For the past two years we just find a way to let the other team hang in the game.

The stretch that lead to Fran getting the Ts was close.

I must have missed the absolute muggings on both ends of the floor, which is what we saw two years ago. There were some fouls, but it wasn't like they were beating on us. The officiating was not THAT bad.

I dont even know what a foul is in college ball anymore. It changes every game.

I do know that adam woodbury gets called for fouls that just simlpy arent there.
Every game? Every possession! Regarding Woodbury, he earns his fouls. I can call the fouls he gets charged with before the ref blows the whistle, in most cases.

My honest opinion is..............
Woodbury - 13 mins. 1/2 FG, 3 rebs, 1 stl, 1 blk, 4 fouls and 3 pts
Ogelsby - 11 mins. 0/2, 1 reb, 1 assist and 0 pts.
............not good.

We are all frustrated with the losses to teams we all feel we should beat. But the 3 losses we have, 2 of them came on the hands of poor officiating and a mad Fran due to the fact and they were road games. We are tough at home. Referees won't be this bad in the NCAA Tourney. Florida is good..they lost at the Kohl Center too. There's no need to fall off the wagon.

We are a good team that will make the Tourney. We will be a tough team to beat in a game not dictated by bad calls.

Good teams don't GIVE away games.....

Iowa has not GIVEN away 3 games....

Iowa is NOT a good team...

Only tourny this clown show is making is the joke NIT again

Fran said it best, Iowa was driving hard to the hole not getting any calls, while on other end the whistles were going off all the time. The home cooking BS is an absolute JOKE at best.

Okay, so now this is a good team that fell victim to home cooking? Or are they still a bunch of lousy chokers?

I was at the game last night, and I agree. Not only does the officiating change every game, it changes within a game. There were periods when it was a Rugby match last night, and other periods when they seemed to want to get back "in control" and called fouls very frequently. It was a weird game all around.

BTW- Hawk fans need to starting hating Wisconsin more, and focus less on Nebby and ISU. Go to a game at Das Kohl Center and you know what I mean.

I would like to see Iowa go through contact. Uthoff, White, and Marble tend to get to soft and try finesse things in rather than man up and force the contact and the ref to make a call
