Homerun Derby tonite

Im a Tigers fan and watch him play every day. I think he will be around for awhile. Hes actually in pretty good shape. The amount of single he turns into doubles is pretty crazy for a big guy. He even has a stolen base.

He has a current streak of about 160 games played in a row. His previous streak was 327. That doesnt look like a player who is going to fall apart in the next five years.

He is in his prime right now, enjoy it while you can. When Soriano first signed with the Cubs he was stealing bases also. If he is this freak of nature and plays well through his entire contract then the Tigers got one heck of a player. But the odds are stacked against it.

Babe gained quite a bit of weight towards the end of his career, it affected his performance as well. But during his prime he was 6'2 and only weighed 215 pounds.

After the age of 30 Babe Ruth hit a combined total of 405 homeruns and played to the age of 40. Clearly the affects of his weight gain did little to impeed his bat from launching the ball over the fence. It's not like Prince will be playing the field his entire career and FYI the dude is a Vegan he most likely eats healthier then anyone on this board.

I didnt know he was a vegan.

I think the Tigers got a heck of a deal even if he spends the last part just as a DH. The way hes going and the way he plays makes me think he has a lot more years in him.

Were the "celebs" in the celeb softball game just espn broadcasters? Honest question, I didn't watch.
I mean, I like SVP and all, but I'd hardly call him a "celeb". But espn would.

Those guys were commentating the game, not playing. As for the actual celebs that were playing the game, it was a pretty weak group. Lots of actors from TV shows that no one really watches. Glee, Mod Family, Desperate Housewives, etc.

The legends of the game were good though. Steve Garvery was funny, I'm pretty young but the pitcher named Fingers with the mustache, Dave Winfield, George Brett. Those guys were fun to see.

Turns out the Vegan fact has been refuted. Ole Prince gave up that life style and returned to the manly world of eating dead animal flesh, so basically my whole theory of him being healthier is thrown out the window. :D

I was wondering how you stay that big being a vegan.
