Homerun Derby tonite

Watched about 5 minutes of it and then wanted had to change the channel before I started throwing things at the TV. It was all I could take of Berman. The rage was growing and nearly got out of control.

Fielder will fade just like daddy did. He is too fat to last that entire contract. He will start falling apart once he gets to 30.

This is the only Home Run Derby as far as I'm concerned:

Those old home run derby were fun to watch. The way they did it back then would be neat to see today.

Clearly, you are a cubs fan just because the guy pummuled your poor team into submission over the years is not a reason to take pot shots. By the way, he is in Detriot now and the only way you will play him is in interleague or the World Series and we all now it won't be the latter.

Many people are saying this, not just Cub fans. Prince is listed as 5-11 and 275 lbs, that is a big man for a small body. Heck his dad weighed less and he was 6-3, Cecil hit a wall at the age of 32 with a big drop of production. Cecil did not have his break out season until he was 26 while his son was a starter at the age of 22. The Tigers will be paying Prince 24 million per year until he is 36 years old, Cecil was out of baseball at the age of 34. I estimate about 1/2 way through Prince will make Soriano's contract look like a steal. There are very few examples of guys that big able to have productive careers into their mid to late 30s.

For the record, I love watching him play and it was fun watching him hit those blasts last night. He is a much better hitter than his dad ever was.

This home run derby was terrible! The format is pathetic and the worst part is how they have captains that choose their teams. Why was mccutchen in the HRD? Someone please tell me. He weighs 180 pounds. I want to see real home run hitters like prince, texiera, lahair, Hamilton guys like that. Not only is the HRD boring because it's the same every year, but it's boring because the roster sucks. Give me Bryce Harper hitting some of those famous 500 footers. No mccutchen and an INJURED Matt kemp hitting liners to 3rd.

But on a side note, I did like watching the celeb softball game. Bill Simmons and s. van pelt were hilarious.

I loved it when all the celebs would say "welcome to the 2012 legend and celebrities all star slow pitched softball game presented so and so" that title was way too long and awkward

Were the "celebs" in the celeb softball game just espn broadcasters? Honest question, I didn't watch.
I mean, I like SVP and all, but I'd hardly call him a "celeb". But espn would.

And he partied like a rock star too!

Im a Tigers fan and watch him play every day. I think he will be around for awhile. Hes actually in pretty good shape. The amount of single he turns into doubles is pretty crazy for a big guy. He even has a stolen base.

He has a current streak of about 160 games played in a row. His previous streak was 327. That doesnt look like a player who is going to fall apart in the next five years.
