I agree with you Pin. Its Dake's to lose. He has 16 Pins, 2 wins over Taylor (1 officially) and he is going for his 4th title at 4 weights. Unprecidented. Ramos has has to Be Top 5. Really like Stiebler,Taylor,Ruth,Kilgore and Bennett. If Dake loses then its a toss up. I will say if Ramos beats L.S he has a good chance.

my top 5:

1) Dake (provided he doesn't lose to Taylor)
27-0
21 by bonus (16 Pins, 1 TF, 4 MDs)
Plus he has the old "lifetime achievement" factor going for him.

2) Kilgore
33-0
29 by bonus (17 Pins (leads D1), 4 TFs, 8 MDs)

3) Ruth
23-0
20 by bonus (10 Pins, 3 TFs, 7 MDs)

4) Stieber (slide Ramos in here if he knocks him off)
17-0
17 by bonus (10 Pins, 5 TFs, 2 MDs)

5) Oliver
25-0
21 by bonus (12 Pins, 2 TFs, 7 MDs)

Other Contenders
Ramos
21-0
19 by bonus (10 Pins, 1 TF, 8 MDs)

Taylor
22-1
21 by bonus (10 Pins, 8 TFs (leads D1), 3 MDs)

Whoever wins Dake-Taylor III in DSM will get OW for the tournament.

Oliver's SOS just kills him in my opinion.

Wonder how many we'd have if it went back to our glory days?

Well Iowa did win nationals the first 6 years of the award along w/ another 3 peat as well so i wouldn't say it's too far from our glory days.

what surprised me when i looked at that list is how many upper weights there were. i know some were repeat winners, but only 5 times has it been at 149 or lower. that kinda shocked me.

Dake, Taylor, and Ruth. I think you could shake them up and throw them out like dice and see which one rolls the higher number and that would be your winner. I see it as that much of a toss up. How ever, being the Hawkeye Homer that i am, i also think if Ramos continues to wrestle the way he has this year and stands on top of the podium at NCAA's, he should have as good of a chance as any of those three. That being said, if i had to put money down, it would be on Dake.

HODGE WATCH

1. Cornell’s Kyle Dake: The three-time NCAA champion is 28-0 with 16 falls and a pair of wins against last year’s Hodge winner, David Taylor of Penn State.
2. Penn State’s Ed Ruth: Defending NCAA champ Steve Bosak of Cornell, who dropped a 7-3 decision to the Penn State 184-pounder, is the only wrestler to come within seven points of Ruth since November.
3. Ohio State’s Logan Stieber: The leader of the Division-I dominance statistics finally had his first regular decision of the season last week at 133 pounds when he beat Missouri’s Nathan McCormick 8-2.
4. Iowa’s Tony Ramos: Nobody has been more dominant lately than Ramos, who has five pins, a forfeit and a 9-0 major decision against No. 3 A.J. Schopp in his last seven matches.
5. Oklahoma State’s Jordan Oliver: The top-ranked 149-pounder isn’t racking up bonus points lately in the same manner he did earlier in the season, but he’s 28-0 with 13 pins.
