6. Murray Weir
7. Kevin Kunnert
8. Downtown Freddy Brown
9. Carl Cain

12. George Peeples
13. Chad Calabria
14. Bill Seaberg
15. Bill Logan
16. Chris Pervall

can you pair this down to 8? cause that would help.

Early guys sharm scheurman and "the stick" vidnovak(sp). And somewhere in the early 80s was Steve Carfino. Kevin boyle was a scrapper in late 70s, and what about the "Vanilla Gorilla", Al Lorenzen?
edit: just players, cause I don't really disagree with the lineups you've got going.:)

hummm, realizing that i'm too young to do the Lute/Raveling era, and having a hard time looking up stats for those times as well.

Olsen: Ronnie Lester, Kevin Boyle, Bobby Hansen, and Mark Gannon.......

Raveling/Davis: Marble, Horton, BJ, Gamble and the Vanilla Gorilla

Alford: Dean Oliver, Jeff Horner, Greg Brunner, Adam Haluska, Recker, Evans and Pierre Pierce.....

Lick/Fran: Eric May, Jake Kelley, Gatens, Devyn, Mel, Zach, Aaron White, Mike Gesell and, of course, Andrew Brommer for The Shot:

Hard for me to pick just one or two and I forgot Sir Jamelot......

Lester, Carfino, Hansen, Gannon, Boyle, Arnold, Krafcisin, Waite are a good 8

Oops forgot about Brookins and Mayfield.

after more thought, this is how i would seed the A/L/F bracket. listed are their last year ppg/reb/asst/blks/steals

1 Pierce 17.8/5.2/4.2/0.5/2.5
2 Brunner 14.1/9.2/1.8/0.6/1.0
3 Horner 13.6/4.1/5.6/0.1/1.4
4 Haluska 20.5/4.6/2.6/0.3/1.4
5 Oliver 14.9/2.8/4.8/0.1/1.4
6 Recker 17.1/3.4/2.5/0.4/1.6
7 Evans
15.4/11.1/1.3/0.5/1.6
8 Gatens 15.2/3.6/2.0/0.2/1.1

for the record, i think Dev or Aaron could sneak in here with a full career. also, when looking up the stats, i was surprised with how consistent Horner was over his whole career. also, when looking at the stats, not only was i stupid for leaving Pierce out initially, he's obviously (to me at least) the most talented/best player of the bunch. Not really comfortable with the final number/seed, but very comfortable with who's in there.

will take your word for it, but i thought i always heard that Freddy Brown was one of the greatest, and you have him 7th?

He was one of the best ever. But to demonstrate just how good we used to be, every player ahead of him was either Big Ten Player of the Year (Williams, Weir), or were All-Americans twice (Johnson, Nelson) or three times (Wilkinson and Ives). Really, as far as the top 15 players of the pre-Olson years are concerned, you can pick and choose. Just littered with all-time greats.

Great catch.. I was about to get banned for going off on you for getting him so I appreciate you noticing you're mistake :)

initially i was saving him, but then i got carried away looking at all these stats and then i totally forgot. when i looked back over the list i was like "where the hell is street at". doh!

Davis had a lot of good players.... stop blaming stats on you;re omission. :) That being said Street as an 8 is like Hampton
#15 against ISU.... UPPPPSSSSSEEEEEETTTTT

Street is an all time fav for many for many reasons, but he isn't close to the player Marble or BJ was. maybe if he would have gotten through his senior season.
