HEY TEHBOAT and others who were in Kinnick

you know it's loud when the crowd noise becomes loud inside the glassed in tomb that is the 4th floor press box press area......finally drowned out that screeching Pitt fan down the hall.

I'm pretty sure my vocal cords are still bleeding right now, but it was worth it. Kinnick went from a mausoleum in the middle of the 3rd, to the snakepit that I know and love in the 4th. The Hawks definitely fed off of the energy in there. When KMM caught his 2nd TD, it was as loud as I've heard it in Kinnick. I've been to nearly 100 games (haven't missed any since '03) and this ranks in my top three for sure.

Yeah...I didn't want to 'out' TM3308 here on the board. I'm just glad he wasn't wearing his Steele Jantz jersey.

I wasn't going to say anything either, but I thought it was pretty amateurish of tm. I can't say I've been to 100 games(yet), but it was f'n loud.

the shift in gears was tangible and the noise level was easily as loud or louder than i've experienced in kinnick. once the team got rolling there was no doubt that they could pull off the comeback.

i think you could probably see on the tv that the noise level reached a point that it began to affect pitt.

not only did the team play off the crowd but the crowd began to play off the players as the players were lifting their arms, encouraging the crowd to bring more noise and be the "12th man".

The two things that really changed the atmosphere from "Meh ok maybe we wont lose by 20+"... to Nutso was Adam Gettis refusing to come off the field after the TD to make it 27-17 at the 9:55 mark - he flapped his arms in the "up with noise motion" for a good minute until soup came and got him.
In that span you could see the light switch come on for the guy, basically his actions said **** THIS IM A SENIOR LETS WIN THIS ******* THING AND PLAY WITH SOME DADGUM EMOTION!

After that every snap the defense faced, they looked to have finally woken up and played with emotion, each PITT snap was like the beginning of OSU or WISKY last year loud. Which was good to see and hear. Lets hope they play with the emotion of the last 10 mins of this game, if they do theyll be fine.

Reminded me of the noise in wisky game last year. I managed to remain positive until after the no call on the hold before Pitts final td. When that happened the fans flipped out. KF went ballistic on that ref. The team responded and the crowd for back into it. Sippy loud.

The crowd was exited at the beginning but when Pitt was up by ten then the crowd was gone. The team just wasn't jellin' and really struggled. I thought the refs sucked. Fortunately I was still numb from beer early in third but not by much. Then I actually did a few Hail Mary's on my "Hawkeye football prayer beads" :) and we got a TD. A few more and then another. You could tell the crowd was believing we could do it. They were standing and screaming loud when Pitt had the ball. I think when we got the last TD the crowd was out of their minds. I know I was. Then Pitt had the ball and kept passing it to the left and mr freak and I were wondering why the **** wasn't a hawk intercepting that and then Hyde did....and we went nuts again. Unbelievable game ending! I had got to the point of acceptance of another loss and then they won. Driving back to Rochester now. Very hungry and my throat is burning from screaming so much but I feel reeeeaaal good inside!:D

Go Hawks!!

That was driving me crazy at home and I was screaming "Why the f*** can't we stop that!" and then Micah did.

Glad to be of assistance.

We took our two boys to the game today. Our 8 year old was hoarse by half time. Since a few people left around us at half, he had plenty of room to jump around and high five people in the 4th quarter.

As was said above, Kinnick may have been as loud as I have seen/heard since the PSU game. The crowd was electric in the 4th quarter.

It was incredible. I think I had a stroke. The first 2.5 quarters or more...some of the worse KF football I'd ever seen. And, then...magic. That place was absolutely rockin. I will not be able to talk tomorrow. I sit right behind the pitt bench. Fun stuff.

I agree that it was loud like the UW game last year. It was emotional, powerful, and memorable. Some people left! Sucks to be them.

These guys behind me were screaming VDB sucks! and should be pulled. He then went on to throw for about 200 yards in 6 minutes..:)

It was epic. Iowa may not end up with a stellar record this year, but that experience was one for the ages.

I walked right by some Pitt cheerleaders and parents immediately after the game. They looked positively devastated. It had to suck for them.

It may be a transformation for this team. They really pulled something off. Uncharacteristically for a KF coached team, the players were going absolutely nuts at the conclusion of the game. It was good to see. Those players really wanted to win. Good on them. They could've quit and didn't. Maybe they build from here.

I have no voice left, and don't plan too, until well into next week.

I did get to hug this MILF several times, during the frenzy in the 4th quarter.

Three quarters of horror and one quarter for the ages. Have to give the crowd kudos for sticking in there. A few people headed for the exits at the end of the third (bet they are kicking themselves). I thought (as I am sure did the other 70,000 fans) we were done. The fans were rocking in the 4th ... As a fan was so tough to watch ... Sort of became resolved to the fact we were going to lose ... and then got sucked back into it ... Pretty much lost my voice just from the fourth quarter alone. Kudos to the fans ... They hung in there ...

The overall atmosphere wasn't quite on par with beating Wisconsin for the Big Ten title, thrashing Ohio State, or beating Penn State when they were undefeated, but it was pretty darn close. The house was rocking for the last 7 minutes plus. Possibly a couple of the loudest single plays I have heard.
