I have lived in Minnesota for approaching 10 years, I can't recall one Gopher Fan talking garbage to me when I wear or display my Hawk Stuff. It just doesn't happen.. Even at the games I've attended. I actually would say the opposite Sparky, It amazes me on how less crap they talk. That tells me that 99% of Gophers know where they stand during Football season.

Pretty much this ^ (and I've lived here over ten years) I don't think I've ever met a "die-hard" Gopher football fan and I know I've been to way more Gopher football games than the average Minnesotan has.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I am ashamed that we've lost two in a row to them. The thing that sucks about losing is you have to take every word they throw at you. Scoreboard means a lot. I have no idea how the point spread is what it is, but I feel like it will be a major upset if we beat the Gophers in Iowa City. I can't even believe I typed that.

I don't think it's a major upset if Iowa wins. Neither teams has been that impressive so far this season.

I really dont sense a rivalry with Minnesota at all. To me, it gets me about as excited as playing Indiana in football. Im sure its there for people that live in Minneapolis, but its one of the boring games on the schedule every year.

Avenue of the Saints, bra. I do it often. Just head down I-35 and take the Hwy 18 Exit just past Mason City. Cruise right thru W'loo/C Falls...CRapids and on to ICity. (rest stop required at the Mason City/ Clear Lake exit (about 40% of the way there) for a pee and a slice of Casey's Pizza)

You can do it in 4 1/2 hours easy.

I think this is what bugs me most. Most of the people who like to give me grief are casual fans AT MOST. There are a few that I didn't even know were fans.

But at the same time, it probably doesn't help that I'm very vocal and passionate about my love for the Hawkeyes, which is probably why I receive so much grief.

It amazes me that fans of Minn. can talk crap after being one of the worst teams in the Nation for the past 10 years.

Talk to an ISU fan and find out. If we beat anyone and only won 6-7 games I would be ashamed that we were a horrible team, they win 7 games and think they are great. I guess I should thank God I'm not worthless piece of human garbage like ISU fans are.

Have you watched Minnesota's games yet? Not that impressive.
Their run D is BRUTAL... like a sieve.

Let's say (hypothetically) - Morris returns that INT for a TD and Iowa beats ISU. Iowa recovers the onside and beats CMU.
How much more confident would Iowa fans be seeing the Hawkeyes are 4-0 vs a 4-0 Minny team? I think a lot. Sometimes record messes with people's heads.

Is Minnesota better than years past? For sure. Worse MN teams beat Iowa in back-to-back years. That said, Minn and Iowa are both two teams that don't look that good overall right now.

My roommate has been walking and talking like the Goofs are hot ****. I am soooooo ready for Iowa to smash them this weekend. Their non-conference sucked and I just don't see Iowa losing 3 times at home, to a TROPHY rival for the third year in a row.
