Please don't tell Hawk fans how to react to basically the last decade of Iowa Football. And, yes we DO realize that "KF is the winningest coach in Iowa Football" history.....just how long is the mileage on that tired ass excuse? I know we are talking about two different programs, but I damn sure know that if KF had been the coach at Michigan the last ten years, you would have been turning over tables 4-5 years ago and calling for his head.....especially had Michigan been playing a NAIA non-conference schedule along with a a pathetic Big 10 West. You are doing the SAME exact thing that you just got done ripping Tom Izzo for in your podcast.

And Jon, help is NOT "on the way"....where do you get that crap? If we had any kind of recruiting at WR, we could work around some of the deficiencies at OL. I'm really not sure that our current QB is the answer to be honest, but that will be determined at a much later date. The only time that I'll get the feeling that help is truly "on the way", is when I hear that Barta is no longer AD. Until then, expect more of the same crap.

And BTW, the only reason that Hayden is not the winningest coach in Iowa history is that unfortunately age caught up to him, and recruiting really started to suffer. What is KF's excuse? How many inexcusable losses did Hayden have as double digit favorite? It is no wonder Hayden left Iowa city for a couple days after the KF hiring to avoid saying something unprofessional...he knew then what I've know for going on 20 years....and still know....KF was FAR from the best option. Even KF must have had doubts about himself, taking almost two F'n months to show up in Iowa City because he didn't want to burn his NFL bridges. Not much was ever said about that, but there should have been.

if Kirk was named coach when Hayden was, he never would have turned this program around. It was already set up for Kirk when he was hired & I doubt Bump would have let Kirk get away with what he has. Best thing that ever happened to Kirk was Gary Barta, his own guradian angel.
 
FKF wouldnt have survived 3 years if he was hired when Hayden was. Part of the allure of Hayden was his personality. He changed the culture of Iowa athletics. And did things no one else in the B1G was doing. And surrounded himself with winners that were not yes men.
FKF would have been another Bob Commings.

Projecting a sense of "mystery" in who he is and the game plans...

Flexible/enough to exploit the weaknesses of opponents...

The ability to see coaching talent and mentor them...trusting them in the process...

Taking the fall when there is failure...not defaulting into blaming and excuse making...

Gosh...can it be that simple...?

Why do you guys hate Kirk Ferentz so much? Why so angry in general? Why do you feel the need to bitch about Deace, Miller, Howe or anyone else who has the balls to put their voice out there to the public? I’m sure there’s a legion of you assholes who were 5 star recruits and scored 4 touchdowns in a single game in high school. Arm chair quarterbacks, coached in high school or maybe a low level college or some shit. I’m sure your pedigree includes Rose Bowls and Orange Bowls and 7 figure paychecks. Or maybe you’re the dickhead who yells at umpires and little league coaches because your vagina is sore like you were the star in a gangbang adult video. Maybe Kirk and family are actually Russian spies who were sent here by the Kremlin to pick up secrets on Iowa farming, and coaching is just a cover for his double secret covert operation. Maybe Kirk is the one who screwed up the election for Hillary!! Let’s get him!!

Whatever. Just get over it. Even if you went to the university, you’re financially tied to it as well, you still only have one voice that makes noise. Your pocketbook. Sorry for the rant. But there’s literally been about 50 posts how bad Iowa football is. How will you ever come up with more material at this juncture if Iowa loses again this year? Here’s a secret, it’s gonna happen.

So not true on HF. His last 2 years were top 25. Been over this before. Ine of tose was considered darn good.

Look, I get being frustrated. The offense is dull. KF should not have hired Brian as OC. I don’t like bend but don’t break. I even understand venting. But, at what point is it just ... bleh? Do you attack your personal life with as much intensity and ferocity as you do Iowa football? Maybe I said too much, but it just gets to me, all the negativity. “You’re goddamned negativity John!” <<— what movie?
