I thought Will Levis was overrated. Apparently so do some of the NFL front offices.

These teams have one thing in common, they're always pretty good. I realize Iowa isn't at the level of those schools as far as top end reached, but they are in the same breath of maintaining and consistently winning. Winning 8+ games a year in college football isn't a given at every school....well, expect these 5 or so.
Hell TCU has had 2 losing seasons in the last 4.

Since 2015, 5 teams have won at least 8 games in every season:
Alabama
Ohio State
Georgia
Clemson
Iowa

I knew there was stat there, thank you for sharing. I know we hate our OC but a large contingent of Iowa fans have an opinion of our program that's not based in reality.

Not to derail this but with better offensive production (which is a direct result of the scheme whether it's Brian being terrible or his dad being too restrictive), we'd have even more wins. I don't necessarily think we should settle for this when there's a glaring and obvious shortcoming in the program.
But yeah, Iowa is better than they get credit for and probably the most consistent team in the country relative to the "talent level."

Places I'm reading say NFL teams don't like his attitude and what they perceive his work ethic to be. They say he's ridiculously arrogant and "doesn't take care of his own body." I read an NFL exec said he's just another Carson Wentz which isn't a compliment.

Not only more wins, but they would dominate the BIG West and compete for and in the college playoffs. There is one common denominator that is missing all these years, it's the low productivity on offense and in the recent years the O-line.

I'm usually not one to pass judgement on people just looking at them, but when I saw him on the TV last night in the draft, something just didn't sit well with me. I thought he looked rather arrogant and at the same time kind of embarrassed. He seemed to look to be humbled at bit, and if he wasn't, he needs to be.
There was just something about how he was carrying himself. I would not have taken a chance with a Round 1 contract, no way.
Kiper is an idiot. He's been pounding the table for that guy the most of the talking heads. So much so I think he got other talking heads all thinking he shoulda been a top pick. Well come to find out he throws lots of picks and didn't look all that great to me or the GMs either. It's always funny when the 'experts' and teams are really far apart on a guy

I get the line of thinking, I really do and Iowa has had a serviceable offense in the past so we know it's possible. I am more in the camp that homeboy Spencer, while a warrior, sucked, or at least, wasn't to the level needed for the Iowa program. That's on the coaches as well but what I mean is, we threw 68 touchdowns through the air in Brian's first 3 seasons as OC, what happened? Did he suddenly just become a bad coach?
So, when I think that I think, if the offense was better and more of a focus, something else falls off right? Maybe they get better players on O but lose out to some of the players we have on D, because again, we're working hard and focusing on offense right? More recruiting focus there, takes it from other places like D and ST, 2 places that Iowa has been pretty spectacular in.
I feel like if we flip things and we focus on O, we're probably similar record or maybe worse. I actually prefer having an elite defense. I know that's boring, but I love it.

He didn't play vs Iowa in 2022. He beat us in 2021.
Agreed...was never impressed by him and never understood how he could be expected to go high in the draft.

How about the Chiefs taking the kid from KSTATE that grew up in KC as a Chiefs fan. KC Royalty. That is directly out of Draft Day too.
It was a fun night.
I love the list of schools that had two picks last night. But, one of these things does not look like the other.....
