Unfortunately, college football has changed dramatically. You win with offense now, not defense. Offense must come first (including the fact that the rules favor the offense; holding is never called; receivers are protected; etc. etc.). Look at the scores of the playoff games: The winning teams were in the 40s.
I disagree.
What do the following names have in common, besides being hired as a new head coach in 2015; Ryan, Del Rio, Fox, Bowles, Tomsula (and likely Dan Quinn will go to Texas)?
All of them came from a defensive coaching background.
While I agree the offensive flow for football in general has sped up, and KF has not kept pace with that change, defense is still the key to championships.
