I've always liked herbie as an analyst on ESPN and as a color guy. I watch him all the time on gameday and on Saturday night ABC games. He really is about the best... fair minded, insightful and doesn't over do it.

This is the first time in a long time I remember him working an Iowa game and just found it an absolute joy to listen to him compared to the usual c-list Iowa gets.

Chris fowler is meh, liked him better on game day.

For the first time in eons I actually enjoyed listening to the broadcast. Herbie is a pretty straight shooter and I bet the smile he had on his face after the game was all about Michigan getting beat.

He's got the right mix of playing experience for a major program, knowledge of the game, not being a douche ala Cowherd/Stephen A. Smiff, and he just happens to be good at live commentary.

I actually thought Fowler won me over a little more than I expected. Over the years I've despised the man for crap he used to say on ESPN Gameday, but thought he was pretty objective and fair Saturday night. He didn't throw out any low ball comments about Iowa's plodding offense or anything like that. He used to nail the BIG about their style of play.

Chris Fowler still has ways to go as a good PBP person.
Sad how ESPN is relegating Brent Musberger to the SEC Network, to keep the channel rights fee, higher than without him.

Herbstreit was very solid and his knowledge and prep for the broadcast was great.
Hayden had to be smiling with the covered-up pink walls, as well as that 1983 coaching staff photo, that never gets old.

He wasn't a fan of the Hawks last year...he's fine with us if we "know our role."

In hindsight he was right...so I don't blame him. It wasn't personal, he just could see iowas flaws, because he wasn't wearing blacks and gold sunglasses like us.

Is that why Musberger is on SEC network? Every time I see him broadcasting Kentucky v South Carolina it hurts my heart. That guy should be at the big games, he's the best.
