Oh, I guess urban Meyers gonna come to the big ten and kick everyone without playing a game?? It would make kicking Ohio States *** that much more fun!!

You realize that OSU has owned us for, basically, forever right? We've beaten them just one time since 1991.

can we change the name of this thread to "herbstreit stating facts"

also, not sure if OP trying to make fun of herbstreit's name or just bad at spelling.

honestly though. meyer is a very good coach and an extremely good recruiter. with the resources he will have at tOSU, it's hard to think he won't be successful. Iowa fans should just be glad he's on the other side of the conference and you wont have to see his team every year

He said that Meyer's offense in the Big Ten would be like going against scout teams D's and and OSU would dominate the Big Ten.

That might be a little extreme but I do think OSU would dominate the Leaders Division.

Put O$U on "level" playing field, they are just what this year has shown: a decent team. Pay them, get the best recruits, etc., they are what we have seen: a very good-to-excellent team.

Urban Meyer is not a step in the right direction versus what they have just gone through.

It'll take "death penalty" to clean up O$U

a death penalty will likely never be given to anyone ever again after seeing what it did to SMU in the 80's.

every football program in the country is committing some type of minor violations or "bending" the rules when it comes to recruitment. The team that isn't is in last place. It's a broken system, but with so much money at stake nothing is likely to change.

I fail to understand how OSU with Meyer could be any more dominant than OSU with tressel.

But I am also confidant that the NCAA will hand down much more severe penalties on OSU in a few weeks.

meyer smoked Tressel head to head in the '07 BCS title game. Meyer has a better track record of getting it done on the big stage

Really? Pryor in Meyer's offense>>>>>>Pryor in Tressel's offense. TP obviously isn't there anymore, but that's just an example. Meyer can easily turn a guy like Braxton Miller into a superstar.

This

Tressel won with superior talent where Meyer will dominate with superior talent

The vest playing conservatively was the best thing for the rest of the conference and still no one could beat them

Urban Meyer is a great coach, hes just what B1G needs (an ex-sec coach) to bring so credibility to the conference. He will not only be O$U savior but the whole conferences savior!!! Everyone in the conference should throw money in a hat for him, we as a conference need him, hes godlike.

I feel like I sense sarcasm here, but it's not too far off the mark as I see it (save for the "godlike" part). The Big Ten has stagnated schematcially, and if Meyer comes in and has Braxton Miller doing the 20 rush TDs AND 20 pass TDs thing like Tebow, survival might require that the rest of the conference diversify on offense a little. I still love the pro set, but having a spread package with almost any QB other than Jared Lorenzen makes 3rd-and-short a much easier pickup (just ask Northwestern, although they struggle in other areas). Wisconsin probably wins the Rose Bowl last year if they had more 3rd & 5 options than Tolzien drop back or draw play, therefore Big Ten wins a big game (something that's been very rare lately).

agree to some point, but he will not dominate, maybe get to speed faster than most others would. he will also bring some more modern/different offenses along with his SEC followers' approval of the B1G. As well as his recruiting philosophy, which is O$U approved.
