Heiar accident per Gazette

He was of legal age. I doubt he would have a high level of blood alcohol if it took over an hour to free him from his vehicle. Add to that the time for the emergency crew to arrive and transport him to the hospital. I doubt if any charges are filed unless there was an open container.

Well it’s a little creepy and lacks compassion in the saying, but that is certainly applied logic there (that escaped me incidentally) and I’m nodding my head in agreement. He would have had to been smashed to still test positive after all that.

Just so you know, I am not in any way giving you crap; I enjoy people who are deep thinkers. I just might not have said it out loud…..LOL

Freakin' kids......

My sentiment exactly. Oh, the stupid, ignorant things we do when we are young! How many of us don't spend at least some time time in our older, wiser years regretting the galactically poor decisions we made when we were younger and dumber. Lord knows I made my share!

remember this thread the next time you hypocritical morons have a drink and drive home. for those of you that don't EVER drink, fire away. the rest of you mouthpieces that do the same thing that you're thinking happened here, shut up! it could happen to any social drinker, which i'm guessing is most of you, myself included. get off you soapboxes.

Touche’……………and I haven’t drank in going on 9 years. But before that I estimate I must have driven highly intoxicated 1000 plus times. Society is filled with people who have no mirrors, and quick to point fingers.

I think it sucks and was stupid but far be it from me to damn him to hell. I no longer drink and I think it is very dangerous for pretty much everyone, but I won’t cast stones and I won’t crucify the university either.

I did a quick web search recently because some clown on the gazette was berating the “thugs†in Iowa City and I came up with a gem that suggested 2-million college students last year admitted to driving drunk. There were 1400 drinking related deaths (not just driving) and 500K drinking related injuries.

Honestly all the stats, violence, unprotected sex; sexual assault is through the roof when alcohol is involved.

I knew it had to do with booze. Single car crashes that aren't in January never root from good things. Hope they somehow didn't take his blood.

Yes, this case was most likely due to booze.

But, now there are many single car accidents by jerks texting while driving. One can always tell because they are people doing stupid crap like driving off curves at 3:00 in the afternoon or rear-ending people. I think the number of accidents with teens & young adults are drastically going up secondary to this. You can just tell by the stupid accidents what it was.

Take his blood, didn't take his blood- Does it matter? It's called the 'court of public opinion' or 'truth of the coaches'. The coaches know the truth and he knows the truth. In the end he's got to show a TON as a JC transfer from here on out. That said, THANK GOD HE'S A LIVE and NOBODY WAS KILLED!

I say as a JC Transfer because his time is limited.

What a bunch of...well I do not have anything nice to say so I will not say it...

Until it is proven to be alcohol, then some of you just need to stick your heads back in your holes...the kid was seriously enough hurt to be taken to the hospital and all some of you can do is guess and call him names. WOW...just WOW...

All I can say is that we knew that it was going to happen to the hawks hahahaha

Point of order, jerk, nothing happened to "The Hawks," something happened to one of our players. He wasn't likely to start this year so I doubt this will have any lasting impact on the season. How bout a little human compassion for the young man in the hospital?
