Hawks Will Need at Least 11 Total B1G Wins

For those who dont think 9-9 or 10-8 are good enough...if either of those happens that means we will be piling up wins while other bubble teams are losing. We almost made the bubble last year with a much worse resume. All depends on how soft the bubble is but if we win 11 total (counting the BTT) we should be in no problem. 10 total would give us a chance depending on the bubble

Nebraska, Ped State, and Purdue are not bubble teams. Minnesota is most likely a lock. Illinois might be a bubble team but only if they can reverse their drastic free-fall.

Just because we're winning doesn't mean that other bubble teams are losing.

I wasnt talking about those teams as bubble teams. I am talking about ALL the bubble teams in college basketball. If we go 6-2 or 7-1 down the stretch that will be much better than most teams fighting for those last few tourney slots

Yeah, but those games are against some of the worst teams in college basketball. 7-1 against the Ped States and Nebraskas of the world is not as impressive as 5-3 against legit teams.

illinois still has road games at minnesota, NW, iowa, OSU, and michigan. they could easily end up 7-11 or 6-12 and i dont think they get in.

I agree. I've always thought they were overrated because they played a very fluffy non-con schedule and are WAY too reliant on the 3-pointer without any rockstar shooters.

Look at Lunardi's last 8 in...half of those teams will probably go 4-4 or worse in their last 8 conf games. I agree the wins wont be impressive (outside of Minn) but wins are wins and with their overall sos they wont be punished as much as you seem to think. With that said there is no margin for error....have to win them all

WHA???? They played Butler, Gonzaga, and Mizzou. Thats gotta be above average at the very least

He means other bubble teams around the nation will most certainly be losing. And he's right.

I totally agree with this. We have 3 big problems: R, P, and I. Right now, it's 92. It needs to be at least 60 to have a shot as an at-large selection, and that's not going to happen by just beating bad teams. We need to beat Minnesota and probably Indiana for that to happen.

Yeah, and they lost to them, and now Mizzou is mediocre, too. Plus, those games were over 2 months ago. I'm sorry, but a team with a losing conference record is not getting into the tournament, even in this league.

They played 3 top 25 teams plus 2 other BCS conf teams. I dont think they are a tourney team right now but you cant say that was a very fluffy non-con sched.

It wasn't that great. Go check out Ken Pom. I feel bad saying that, because ours was awful...only 7 teams had weaker non-conference schedules than us. Good thing we play in the B1G and are playing better than Illinois.

da committee only care about te RPI. ask CryFans

That's not everything. It's a big thing, but they also look at the intangibles. That's why they have a committee and not just RPI like the BCS or something. I think our intangibles look good. There are some teams we have absolutely pounded.
