Hawks vs. Irish

What are you even disagreeing with? he was right

I think it was pretty clear what I was disagreeing with. IMO, there is not a "massive" difference in talent between Iowa and Notre Dame and it appears everyone is just looking at the final score and assuming Iowa got rolled. They played one heck of a game and even the commentators stated if Iowa would have made a few of those 3 point shots they would have been right there with Notre Dame but they came out cold and looked intimidated. Like I said Iowa averages 6 three points shots made per game and if Iowa even hits 4 of them you have a 5 point game, some of those shots they were missing were wide open looks.

This Notre Dame team averages 85 points per game and Iowa held them to 28 points in the 2nd half (74 total). Perhaps Iowa was playing over their heads, and perhaps Notre Dame took their foot off the gas, but Iowa played a heck of a lot better than the final score suggests. Notre Dame is a more talented team, no questions, but there is not a "massive" difference in talent.

Iowa has a pretty good team returning next season, that highly rated recruiting class are now going to be Juniors (Dixon, Doolittle, Thomas, and Logic). It will hurt losing Morgan Johnson but Printy turned into Oglesby down the stretch and when she was not scoring her defense made her a liability.

I can't argue womens bball really as I might see a total of 5 games per year and that comes from watching parts of maybe 10 games, as I never watch a full game.

ND forced 21 turnovers and it could have been more had they kept pressing Iowa. I get the idea ND just coasted in the second half and if the game got that close Skylar Diggins could have done what she wanted to score.

So the score is actually probably an idication of the gap between the teams. ND could have just rubbed it in if they had to. They didn't and Iowa did not really have a shot to beat them as I see it.

Boy, I don't know about this. May have to agree to disagree. The talent gap looked pretty wide to me.

Notre Dame is definitely more talented, but "massive"?

BTW, you want to talk about a "massive" difference in talent? Look at the wide gap between the womens teams big name schools versus mid majors. There is only 1 mid major still alive in the NCAA tournament (6th seeded Delaware), the womans game is a perfect example of why mid majors succeed in the mens game. The best women basketball players stick around all 4 years and they don't have 1 school like Kentucky who churn and burn the best players year after year, diluting the game by playing 1 season and leaving for the NBA. At the top you have some really good teams like Notre Dame, Stanford, Baylor, UConn, and Tennessee you rarely see low/mid majors upsetting these teams in the tournament.

You know, I've only watched a quarter here and a quarter there of women's basketball this year. It does have it's advantages. I went to the kitchen to get a beer just as Iowa cleared a defensive rebound to start a fast break...I was back before they got to the basket. Gotta love women's basketball...you don't ever feel like you are missing much. Hey...that could be the slogan for NCAA Women's Basketball.

Women's Basketball - You never feel you are missing much! Get a little beat form DR. Dre or Diddy and I think the BTN Network may have next year's promo or theme.
