Must root for PSU. Unlikely, but if MSU were to lose to NWU, and Neb were to lose to PSU and to Michigan, then we could actually lose to Neb and STILL win the Legends. Of course must beat MSU and Purdue, but bottom line is, there is a scenario under which a PSU victory would help the Hawks in their (outside) shot at roses.

It sure does matter to cheer for another team to beat a rival. I believe it was the 1981 Rose Bowl season that on the last week of the season that Iowa beat MSU to go to the Rose Bowl. Earlier in the day everyone was cheering for OSU to beat Michigan. If Michigan had won they would have gone to the Rose Bowl.

If Nebraska losing meant something to us it would mean we make it to the big ten championship with a 5-3 record and if we would win that we would then have 4 losses. Not really deserving of a Rose Bowl anyways so I have no issue with Nebraska beating Penn State this week even if it helps us in the standings for the reverse to happen.

There is a question about how well-prepared they will be ... how did remaining PSU coaches focus on game-planning and strategy amidst the noise and distractions during the week, and how will did players retain what they thought they heard in meetings and practice, so they can execute the plan against a rated opponent?

I never said I would be against going to a Rose Bowl with 4 losses however I wouldn't be disappointed if we miss out with 4 losses because we didn't deserve to there especially compounded with the it's hard to root for Penn State thing right now.
