The coaches are really tight with personnel on the road. Canzeri could have probably taken one to the house by now. McCall could be running wild and Alston would be shutting the door on D.

But instead the coaches stick with the smallest group of players possible.

You're right...his space...it was zone. That long play was on Miller. He had his eyes in the backfield the whole time.

that was the WR that caught the ball, prater was lined up on him. It was Miller's responsibility to come over the top on base Cover 2 (Iowa's typical Defense- zone) if you have DVR rewind it and take a look

It was a strange defensive lineup...Kirksey was lined up on the 'Wide Receiver'...Prater was lined up inside. Kirksey went to the corner with his man, and the guy Prater was lined up over actually blocked, then released late. I think that's Prater.

Miller was nowhere to be found on that side of the field. We are talking about Minny's TD play, right? Cover 2 that close to the goalline would be suicide.

Nope!

We're more of a quarter/quarter/half cover 3 team (half to the boundary, quarter/quarter to the field), but safeties are usually deep.
