It’s a single vote but it should be another interesting year.
Especially since there's lots of talk that baseball is going to get cut as a sport. Brommelkamp and others have posted about it.It’s a single vote but it should be another interesting year.
If they cut baseball, I'll stop supporting IA athletics completely. No, it's not a money generating sport but the B1G with expansion is finally becoming a competitive conference and the Hawks remain competitive within the conference.Especially since there's lots of talk that baseball is going to get cut as a sport. I think the OR games are in Des Moines @ the AAA ballparkHere's an update on the B1G baseball regular season title race. The Hawks have two more wins in the conference than any other team
The top teams and their conference record:
Iowa 12 - 3
UCLA 10 - 3
OR 10 - 5
WA 8 - 4
IN, PSU & USC all are 9 - 6
IL 7 - 5
MI 8 - 7
Iowa has 3 home games vs 4 - 8 NE this weekend
3 road games @ 8 - 7 MI
3 home games vs 9 - 6 IN April 25 - 27. Football open practice is the 26th. Take both in!
3 road games @ 8 - 4 WA
3 home games vs 10 - 5 OR May 15 - 17
They do not play UCLA this regular season.
Nine more home games. The weather will warm up. Get out and support the Hawks as they make a run for the B1G Conference title!
Sucks for me this year, I live in far western Iowa and always go to the B1G tournament if the Hawks make it, this year my son graduates that weekend so I won't get to see any of it.Even with the tough Sunday loss, where a potential game tying two run homer was snagged up against the wall, the Hawks are still in first place in the B1G.
Iowa is 14 & 4, and UCLA is 12 & 3, so the Hawks are a 1/2 game up. Ducks are 2 games back at 12 & 6.
Interesting stat regarding the full schedules of sunny LA and the wintery Midwest:
UCLA has played 26 home games, 7 away and 2 neutral sites. The Hawks have played 13 at home, 15 on the road and 4 neutral sites.
