Hawks are in the playoff

We are effectively in until we lose. Lose in any week here on out and they can plan for consolation prize bowl game.

You do realize that virtually every power 5 school has that exact scenario to start the season...

Do you think we would be in if we win out and don't make the Big 10 Championship Game?

I don't think Wisconsin will win out in Big Ten. If they lose to Northwestern I could see them also losing at Penn State and at Purdue. Purdue is really going to test their defense.

Big fat nope to that. All this is assuming Wisky loses again. Which most are doing. Yet all of Wisky nation look at us and say the same. They think we aren't beating PSU and or maybe Purdue either. Ifs butts candy and nuts it's sports

Those same 3 teams that Wisconsin could lose to, are the same 3 teams that Iowa needs to beat in order to win the West.

It's so easy - no way a 1 loss B1G Champ gets left out, won't happen, doesn't matter what anyone else does. Doesn't matter if their name is Iowa,Indiana or Rutgers. That said, odds are incredibly small Iowa wins out.

Normally I agree with this 100%.

However Notre Dame throws a kink into things. For example, undefeated Alabama, Clemson, and ND with 1 loss B1G champion (Iowa, Michigan, or Ohio St), and 1 loss Oklahoma at the end of the season. Alabama, Clemson, & ND are locks. Then it comes down to Oklahoma vs whoever the B1G champion is. Tough call here.

If it comes down to a 1 loss ND vs a 1 loss B1G champion, odds are on ND's side as well with their victory over Michigan unless Michigan gets blown out by Ohio St.

I'm sure hoping that is the case. If we win out, there are a lot of chances yet for Wisconsin to get beat.

A zero or one loss Notre Dame gets in before a 1 loss B1G champ not named Michigan. If they win it it they'd be in, but anyone from our side of the fence is looking for bowl games instead. Notre Dame has a comparable SOS to anyone in the west (within 10 or so spots, you're splitting hairs at that point), a win against a top 10 team and 2 wins against top 15 teams.

If ND goes undefeated or has 1 loss and Oklahoma wins out the CFP will be as follows:

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Oklahoma
4. Notre Dame

The only way the B1G gets in is if it's Michigan winning the title. Anything other than that and the B1G goes home. You have to remember that the CFP committee is made up of a bunch of good old boys who favor the SEC and ACC first and above all else, and viewer market/potential revenue a close second. Is it right? No. But that's the way it is, and it's the reason we need to go to a P5 + 3 playoff format. I guarantee you ND and BYU would join up right away and it'd be best for everyone to have set qualifiers.

I can't see us being in w/o a championship game win either, which means we don't control our own destiny to anything right now.

I'll eat my shoe live on my youtube page the day after a 1 loss B1G champ gets left out. It's never happened, never gonna happen.

Oh for sure we'd have to win out and win that. But winning out for us would have to include Wisky and Northwestern losing too. Which they play each other so one of them is losing for sure. Clearly we have no control over others losing or not. I just want Wisky to lose again so I can be proven right about them. I don't think they are all that good. Not nearly as good as the talking heads always seem to think anyway

Pretty small sample size to be making a guarantee like that but I'll take it.

Just so were clear, if Iowa or say NW god forbid wins out and then by a miracle from god would beat Michigan/OSU, and still not make it in over Oklahoma, ND, or anyone else, you agree to eat your shoe live on YT?

If so, I hereby promise to purchase for and ship to you a new pair of shoes up to and including $75 in value for said eating purposes, so that you don't have to eat a used shoe.
