Once the Rose Bowl was over, the season was over reguardless of whether we win or lose. Those situations make loses easier to handle. Losing the MSU game meant we lost the chance to go to the playoffs. Those loses are double wammies. Bowl loses aren't that big off a deal for me so it's an easy number 2.

The MSU game was weird. It was painful as hell and I'm a Cubs/Packer fan so I've gone through some amazing chokes (plus, the tournament game in 06 and however many Iowa regular season football games) but while the stakes were high and losing didn't feel good at all it was weird feeling so much pride after a loss so that helped dull the pain.
That said we aren't experiencing another Iowa basketball loss this year. We're winning the rest of our games this year. IT'S GONNA BE AMAZING!!!!!
