Hawkeyes Offer Robert Gregory

Pretty sure it's a no. Haven't seen anyone challenge Howe's tweet

And Howe's tweets have never been wrong either, eh?

Howe probably knows somebody in the AD ... but it's very possible that Howe received news that Gregory hasn't received a written offer. However, if that is the case ... that doesn't exclude the possibility that Gregory received a VERBAL offer. In fact, it's unlikely that too many folks outside of the coaches would know if a verbal offer was issued. After all, it's against the rules for the coaches to talk about the recruits.

As a general rule, the recruiting game is an iffy business. I don't know what is precisely the case at this moment.

One thing to remark upon is that fairly compelling rumors suggest that Gregory was pretty close to committing to Arkansas before Iowa allegedly offered. Now it appears that Gregory will more likely take his time ... and many folks are kinda expecting Gregory's recruitment to "blow up."

All I can say is ... we'll see.

I didn't believe Howe before when he tweeted about Norm Parker ... I didn't believe Howe when he tweeted about Derby (I had, in fact, heard quite the opposite about Derby) ... and now I'm skeptical about what Howe tweeted about Gregory. FWIW, Howe seemed equally convinced about the quality of his sources on those tweets too.

I still recall Stormin' and Jon giving me some serious flack for suggesting that their friend and colleague was spouting things stuff a bit too prematurely/recklessly.

I have no idea. Just reporting it as I see it.

So it has never been confirmed that he did have an offer? Rivals is saying "Yes", Scout "No". Who knows.

It would appear that many folks have confirmed it more based off of what had been heard from Diamond. However, I haven't heard of any comments made by Gregory suggesting that he has an offer.

Gregory DOES have an offer, Todd at 247sports talked to him and Diamond today. Deciding Sept 3, Arkansas is in first, followed by Iowa in second.

Gregory may say he has an offer and even believe he has an offer. We have seen similar situations where kids say something but are not correct in their assessment.

Well, regardless hopefully the Illinois to Iowa commitment train continues flying down the tracks. Smith, Schutt, Gregory, Faith Ekakitite., Tevin Coleman, Vincent Valentine and Diamond still may hop aboard.
