after skimming this thread, no mention that he had committed to Arkansas on 6/11 of last year - unless I missed that.
Yea this kid started setting visit dates to other places after Bielema got hired on. He's said he was still committed to them just seeing what all else is out there....after skimming this thread, no mention that he had committed to Arkansas on 6/11 of last year - unless I missed that.
Good comparison to Drew Tate ,imo.
Really has some wheels...maybe faster than Drew.
His dad clearly is involved in football,or at least was involved in football,as a GA back in the day.
I suspect that is why he commented so extensively on KF and Davis.
He knows the BS artists, and the real deal guys. Lets hope he can influence his son to go with the authentic coach and program at Iowa.
I know that everyone on here is still rooting for Iowa to land good recruits, right? Or maybe not?
Peavey, a Missouri native, was an Arkansas commit before the Razorbacks hired Bret Bielema
Bielema is the anti-Kirk. Yes, we have a chance.
It's also possible Dad overdid the praise a bit, just to be respectful of Ferentz & Davis and let them down easy. You know, like the hot girlfriend who says "you're really a nice guy - it isn't you, it's me..." before running off with a muscled-up limo driver with a shaved chest and the IQ of an ashtray.

Playing QB for Bobby Petrino is far different than plauying QB for Bret Bielema.
agree 100%Look, Iowa is gonna need a little bit of luck to land this kid, but listening to his father Jack Peavey talk of Kirk Ferentz reminds me why I haven't given up on him yet. Regardless where this kid ends up it sounds like he has his priorities straight, and has had a good upbringing. I said in another thread that posting on a fan message board doesn't mean you know football. It doesn't mean you get much information from inside the program about how things are truly run. That's why the following quote(s) from Jack Peavey in Pat Harty's interview really stuck out to me because it gives us a glimpse inside:
“There is not a head coach in the whole country that has done a better job of recruiting my son than Kirk Ferentz,†Jack Peavey said. “And I’ve never heard a man in the college football profession say a bad word about Greg Davis.â€
Jack Peavey said he admires Ferentz and the job he’s s done in 14 seasons as the Iowa coach. Jack also has a friendship with Davis that dates back to when they both coached at Arkansas in the early 1990s. Davis was the offensive coordinator at Arkansas in 1992 and 1993, while Jack served as a graduate assistant.
“Greg Davis has impeccable character,†Jack Peavey said. “He’s just a really good man.
“And Rafe got a chance to meet coach Ferentz and that was a great visit we had. Rafe wanted to make sure before this thing is over that Iowa gets a good look.â€
“What’s impressed him through this whole process is the unwavering commitment of coach Ferentz and coach Davis,†Jack Peavey said. “Coach Ferentz has longevity in his position, which is important to Rafe. He’s established the program and built a winner. I know they took a dip last year, but the longevity of that program and the consistency is important to Rafe.â€
It's funny to hear information from someone who's own son is being recruited by Iowa. Someone who has more hands on experience with football today than almost all of the people who are on this, and other boards. This doesn't change the state of the program. This doesn't change the fact Ferentz needs to get the ball rolling back in the right direction. I just hope it serves as a reminder that we better be careful what we wish for, because the guy we have running the ship right now has a tremendous amount of respect INSIDE the college football world for his ability to coach football and develop young men. I hope people take that into consideration before making ridiculous comments in the future .
and it could be that he was being sincere.
People on twitter are saying that Rafe Peavey is "all in" with Arkansas. It sounds like he made some kind of reaffirmation statement after a recent visit or something.
