Hawkeye Season Snuffed in Evanston

So a senior QB doesn't know how to get the ball snapped before the play clock expires? It is on the OC to get the play in and allow time for the QB to make adjustments if necessary. Especially in the current "sophisticated" offense

Same problems existed under O'Keefe.

The issue is that a SENIOR QB doesn't have the common sense to call timeout to avoid the delay of game penalty.

The coaches lacked common sense as well. Ridiculous.

That certainly was a problem with KOK but you never saw QB's regress under him.

It is pretty sad that the time management issues have been a problem year in and year out. It really isn't that complicated

There have been people saying these same comments for the last 7 years but now that JM has said it you all agree. Most on here are all sheep. Most of you and Jon need to all apologize to the folks you have bashed the last 7 years.

8 more years of KF and his greatness. Yeah Kirk.

That's my point, we've seen this movie before GD ever sniffed Iowa City. Now, it's not clear if today's problem was Vandy, or sideline coaches slow to get plays in, or GD slow to communicate down from the pressbox, or poor prep during the week, or all of the above. I hope some reporter will ask what the he** was going on out there, because that's the slowest-moving 2-minute offense I've seen in 36 years of watching football. And I'm not exaggerating.

Yes, season is over so time too get some experience for next season at QB!!!!!!!

Also hope Iowa does not win 6 this year so we do not get into a bad bowl, and pretend everthing is getting better.

You should hope that Iowa DOES make a bowl. Those extra practices are immensely valuable for a team like Iowa that needs all the experience it can get.

I am an optimist by nature. Example would be, I thought our past "clock management" problems had been caused by KOK (please don't curse me.) All season long this year I have screamed clock management, clock management, clock management. but never more than this game. Even my poor wife, Carmen, screamed it almost as often as I did today (she's not a slow learner!) Now maybe it's the quarterback problem, but if so, that still brings it back to coaching. I would say that more often than not, Iowa snapped the ball with less than 6 seconds left on the play clock (almost made me a nervous wreck!!~. I've supported KF since his 3rd season at Iowa. I was so totally blaming the AD who had the opportunity to hire Bobby Stoops, but allowed his indeciveness , how the Hell do you spell that word? to not get that job done. Seems like our opponents this year have done a lot better job at that than we.

The O.C. Davis seems to be getting a pass, (it's not his fault) here. I'll pose this question. If he was such a great offensive co-ordinator, don't you think he might be employed at Texas?????
