Hawkeye Access?

I have a friend who can't make it to St.Louis. He can't get ESPN3.com because he doesn't have the right provider. I was telling him about Hawkeye Access who is showing the wrestling thursday. I decided to check it out for him and I read this, "Don't miss Hawk Talk with coach Todd Lickliter streamed live weekly". I told my friend I would change internet service to a provider covering espn3 before I purchased Hawkeye Access. Question? Is Hawkeye Access still that unreliable?

I thought you could access ESPN3 without an access code.
