Damage? This won't even be remembered a week from now.
so true. I mean would anyone actually think this has a negative impact on recruiting (other than dbag clone fans who are morons)? If anything, a player watching would think, "good, the coach won't stand for the type of bullshit ND was trying to pull, he's got the player's back." That can't be a bad thing. For the sake of political correctness, Fran had to come out and say the things he said. Noting to see here, move on.

Exactly. And any hesitations that recruits or their parents may have about Fran would all be solved in a second after they actually met the guy. He's a great person who happens to have a fiery personality that has a tendency to boil over on the court. Big freaking deal. He goes to bat for his players. Once they meet him they'll realize that. They'll talk to his current players and realize that. The guy is a class act off the court. He's just competitive as hell when his team is on it. That's not a bad thing, and if a recruit thinks it is then so be it. That's not the kind of player who should be in Iowa City.

As an Iowa alumnus, I was embarrassed by Fran's actions last night. I'm glad he apologized for it today and it's one of those things we can chalk up to having an immediate emotional reaction to something.

I have zero problem with it, ND wants to act like a bunch of THUGS at the end of the game they lost the chance to get shown respect after the game

"I feel bad about it. I have a lot of respect for Brian Jones," McCaffery told ESPN. "I wish it didn't happen. I wish I shook hands.

"It was a hard-fought game, and I was being protective of my players. Peter Jok has been getting beat up, and it was just a few plays in the last minute that I was frustrated about. But again, I think Brian Jones is a high-character guy and a heck of a coach. Assistant Jeff Horner is one of the best players ever to play here. I shouldn't have done it. I feel terrible about what happened."

Fran should feel this way, it was completely classless to leave the way he did especially on his HOMECOURT.

There has been ZERO damage done but to show what a joke the ND program is

I gotta agree - Not getting a payday with Iowa over the next few seasons instead of growing a relationship with a school such as Iowa is much more hurtful to ND, this instance does hardly anything to Iowa other than give some talking points for 24 hours.
