Have we had a Western Michigan prediction thread yet?

yep. Ed Podolak, Jared Clauss and many others including myself are right. KFz just doesn't know how to put a team away. We will have another handfull of stalled drives. WMU will have the ball late in the 4th with a chance to win.

Iowa 30 WMU 24

Please post the quotation where these guys have said that KF does not know how to close a game...I dare you. That being said, the directional team will probably score one TD on a mistake in the Iowa secondary; may a second TD or field goal on a legit drive or a turnover. I will be astounded if they score more than 14 points on Iowa's defense. Iowa offense? They will break 30 for the first time this year.

Ed says it on the radio in subtle ways. You have to listen to him to get an idea how he feels on the subject. No quotations available.

Why the song and dance, doogie? Throw caution to the wind and, at the risk of a slight breach of etiquette, go straight for the "triple-dog-dare"!

Iowa-31, WM-17 (1 TD in garbage time). Iowa should be able to run the ball at will, but may try to work on the passing game a bit this week. Wouldn't be surprised if Bullock, Canzeri and Daniels to get about 20-25 carries combined depending on how quickly Iowa can jump out in front. I doubt Weisman runs more than 25 times this week.

Their QBs have sub .500 completion percentages. NOrthwesten's D is not good and they only scored 17 points. He also seems to throw a lot of INTs. I think there will be a similar score as to what Northwesten had but a few less points for Iowa.
34-17 with one of their score coming late in the 4th with the game already in hand.
I think the last two weeks, especially a win on the road gives the Hawks a lot of confidence and it shows this week.

I am thinking 31-24 Hawks. Everything I hear about WMU says they are a pass happy team and I am not confident enough in our secondary to believe that we cover.

This sounds about right. Although, after the 2nd time of getting torched for a td (or bomb that sets up a td) -- remember, even blind squirrels occasionally find a nut -- Kirt and Gerg will huddle up and decide that pounding them down and eating up clock will, once again, protect the lead.

Weisman = 23 for 142
Daniels (I hope) = 15 for 89

Hawks 27 - W.Mich 17

Northwestern's D is better than Iowa's. Iowa's offense is worse than Northwestern's. Western Michigan's defense will cause early problems for Iowa's offense but in the end Hawkeye's win with Weisman.
Iowa 27-21

Northwestern is allowing 100 yards more per game passing than Iowa.

Back to back weeks with identical scores? ;)

I'm agreeing with the buildup of the confidence factor and being back in IC. I think we win by a sizable margin but barely cover the 17 or O/U of 50. I think we win 34-16, and only have a slight let up this week in the 4th qtr., but enough of one that many of us will still cuss out loud.

Northwesten's D is better than Iowas? In what way?

I hope I am wrong but I see Iowa winning a fairly close game, 35-31, 28-21, 24-17 etc. W Mich has a pretty good QB which can mean troubles for Iowa

I'd think Iowa would beat them by not as wide margin as NW, but then again, this team is down after three losses in a row.

KF doesn't seem to have the killer instinct and he always keeps the play-calling conservative. I predict no blowout or an outright loss. Sorry, but realistic expectations trump blind optimism.
Honestly, I really don't care this week about the margin. Just want a win with no injuries. It's a meaningless game unless they lose. Just win and get ready for the big ten.

I agree with Freed, just win with no injurys. Continue to work on the things we need to improve on. period

No. We need to put the rest of the BoneG on blast and roll these turkeys. If we win by less than 20, it probably shows we're not a bowl team.

Agree as well! Which is why I really, really, really hope we don't see MW with 30+ carries in this game as well. Use him, abuse the defense, and then bring someone else in.

I understand that he can get hurt on his 1st carry or 30th.....My point is that if we shouldn't run him into the ground against these type of teams.

This is the week to really get Canzeri, Daniels (if he plays again this year), and Bullock plenty of snaps to get their comfort level up.

We know what MW can do, he knows what he can do. Get him some reps, and then sit him.

Based on what I've been reading here and other sites, I will go with an Iowa win. I'm not good at math so I won't put down a score. If we lose it will only be because our team is distracted by how good looking their coach is.
