An English teachers nightmare....LOL
LOL I must admit that was not my shining moment, but I did pass English class with flying colors...I swear.

I guess I would view that kind of parent as a POS.
Disappointed, mad, yelling etc. but never talk crap on a world wide forum.
And much of what is said is not crap talk its hatred coming out.
Simple pack mentally from people that wanted someone else to succeed or are jealous of his abilities in some way.
Bottom line this is kid was talented and had a chance to do something special and he screwed up. Could be alot of reasons no one knows for sure but we do know he has had alot of **** land on his plate in the 20 mos. and it would be tough for anyone.
I had some of the same experiences in college and it cost me almost 2 yrs to get my **** out of it and I wasn't a D1 athlete.
I talked to the kid twice and in those short conversations he was humble and shy. Is that a total reflection of his persanality not at all but its sure different than many posting here paint him.
Now that I have gotten that out there let me put a stamp on it for the people that feel this kind of bashing "is your right","he brought it on himself" crowd.
It may make feel cool to join in or helps your self esteem to be part of the crowd but all it really shows is your true character. Shows who the REAL POS's are!
KF told you time and time again last fall what the level of communication was from BW. Zip. Nada. He intentionally kept KF in the dark like a child trying to punish a parent. Now he reaps what he has sown. He'll be the answer to trivia questions instead of an admired Hawkeye.
KF painted him into a corner and waited for a response. I think alot of kids would do the same. BW wanted to live in student housing with the GF to try and live up to his responsibilities and by KF's rules he wouldn't allow it.KF told you time and time again last fall what the level of communication was from BW. Why does he "deserve" grief? Sounds like your wallet wasn't happy with him so you"have the right to trash him.Exactly as I said,POS attitude on your part.As well as many others.I didn't say that he would be going to everyone talking ****. I was basically stating that he would also be disappointed and would be owning up to his son's mistakes. I'm not defending the ppl that are hating on him. There are extremists. But given the fact that he obviously messed up and ruined his time here at Iowa and it seems to be his fault, he deserves to catch a bit of grief. Hate? No. Grief? I think so. We pay good money so that those kids can get full rides and it sucks that some have to ruin it.
BTW, I reiterate, I am not condoning a parent talking crap about their son to the world. But to his friends and family, they may discuss what has happened and what he did wrong. A message board of ppl doing that is completely different. That's pretty much what these things are for.
I'm confused & may have missed something. Wegher to another team? I checked out the "Wegher Bombs" thread & is it correct that Wegher was at OK Sooners? I'm really confused. Can someone do a quick synopsis & fill me in? Thanks.

My opinion on this is only slightly related to BW. Its much more about what you and others THINK you have a right to do.
You do understand that these forums are accessable anywhere on this planet ,right?
My god, dude, you need to understand a few things. First of all, yes, he deserves "grief". Are you kidding me? Should we praise his exit? What should we do? Tell him we love him? He failed as a Hawkeye and we paid for his first year of school. I KNOW I have a right to say and think what I want, just as I KNOW that Wegher had a full ride to the University of Iowa. My "wallet" was OK with it, but my "voice", at the same time, should have the same right to speak my truth about him. If none of this was his fault, then I will eat crow....but I highly doubt that. Please, dude...please...
Please feel free to keep posting because you only serve to prove my point, DUDE!My god, dude, you need to understand a few things. First of all, yes, he deserves "grief". Are you kidding me? I liked him when he played for Iowa and now hope he gets his life straightened out. I don't understand all the hate for him. Kaldenberg was quite the trendsetter on that one.
It is unbelievable how many people confuse hate with thinking someone is overrated, thinking other RB's at Iowa were better, thinking Wegher wasn't going to play as a Sophomore at Iowa before Hampton got hurt, thinking Wegher wouldn't be in the top 2 at most Big 10 schools unless their top 2 get injured, thinking someone's speed was slightly overrated, thinking someone left because they thought they should have been starting in front of someone else.
I guess if someone thinks these things about Wegher it means they hate Wegher.....
My response to that Brian is there is alot more thinking than knowing.

I think some folks are getting tired of the Wegher fanboys that start thread after thread about a mediocre football player.
Let it go, folks. He ain't come back and we don't need him to come back.
I still don't get this. Explain how you know Wegher is a mediocre football player. Calling him a quitter would be accurate. Calling him a medicore football player wouldn't be accurate.
Explain why you think Iowa wouldn't need Wegher to come back.
IMO, he has the speed and hands Iowa desperately needs to be successful.
Don't you think Iowa could use Wegher at RB? At WR? Returning kicks?
Is this how you, as an Iowa fan, show you're hurt Wegher left Iowa?
