People wanted Alford gone for several reasons not just wins.

He's at the perfect spot right now. A place where he can continue to recruit fringe academic players and get them in. Plus he doesn't have to compete against Big Boys night in and night out like he would in the B1G. A mid major with no academic standards is where he can fully succeed.

I think if we fail to at least get passed the first round of the NCAA tournament, we should really consider letting Fran go and make a push to bring back Alford.

Alford's teams had some hot starts during his time at Iowa, too. Only for it to fall apart come January or February.
I'm sure Alford will continue to do well in the MWC. It's not the Big Ten, after all.
