Guess Whos Back, Norm is Back!

I don't know what all the excitement is about. Coach Ferentz announced earlier in the week that Norm may attend the game, but not in a coaching capacity. He is still probably a week or more away from assuming any coaching responsibilities.

Norm's presence may give Iowa an emotional lift but he is not coaching on Saturday.

You seriously don't know what all the excitement is about? Sometimes I wonder about you Columbus.

He could be selling peanuts in the press box and I would be excited. First, it means he is feeling better. And second, it means he is a step closer to assuming some responsibilities within the team.

I'll drink to that....

Not so fast guys. The NCAA only allows a certain number of coaches. They allowed us to replace Norm with an interim coach (A former hawkeye I can't recall right now) when it became apparent he was going to be away from the team for an extended period of time. Even if he's in the booth there might be restrictions on what he can and can't do in regards to coaching activity.

Maybe he could be like any fan and say "You know what would be great right now? Make an adjustment like <insert wise Norm game change>." Then another "real" coach just happens to overhear him and make that change. :)

Then there needs to be a "thank you, pick up your check on your way out" issued, today.

At the very least, since Iowa fans are often credited with being very knowledgeable, give him a seat right behind the Iowa bench where he can "voice" his intellegent opinions, like all other fans.

The interim is Lavar Woods (SP?) I would guess Norm will be able
to contribute a thought or two without it being an issue.
