He did improve from last week...44 to 83 yards. Most Iowa fans, like this homer, are OK with mediocrity. Its pathetic.

We did have some opportunities. Wetjen falling out of his cut lead to an interception which lead to a touch down and short field. I think Gill had a couple drops. Losing Ostrenga I also think hurt. Nothing against Large, but Ostrenga seems the most well rounded as tight end.

They made a few plays we did not. And of course the 17 yard tipped completion on their final drive was the nail in the coffin which you just shake your head. And I hate moral victories. But the defense played fairly well overall. Clones had 24 more yards than us. (238-214).

I hate saying this, this was a pretty good Cyclone team. Several thought this game would not even be close. The game was decided in final 2 minutes of the 4th quarter with a 54 yard field goal.

I don't know, I was not happy with the loss. But I was not fuming like I was last year. You take away how flat we came out and we make a couple plays, it's a different ball game. Could of, should of, would of......regroup and improve.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer.

Just not seeing it with this kid. Brandon Sullivan was a better prospect. Why let Brandon go and bring this kid in? No poise; not accuracy; nothing. I'm just not seeing it.

I was saying that after the first game and folks wanted to behead me. If for no other reason then it'd have been Sullivans 2nd yr with Lester and he'd have been more comfortable woulda been better. Sullivan wouldn't have had that deer in the headlights look MG has had. As far as their size and legs go there's no difference really. Passing wise what's it matter? We hardly ever even try it anyway and they put QB in impossible situations to try and succeed in on 3rd and longs before throwing anyway.

It's going to take a hell of a game by MG against Rutgers & Indiana before I'll change my mind on that. I would love to be wrong absolutely would love it. But it seems like by the time MG is comfortable and maybe playing well we'll have 3 or 4 losses and the season will be a bust anyway.
