There were 3 things that kept this from being a typical year for us. JVB, Greg Davis, and attrition on dline. JVB is gone for sure next year so that takes care of that one. The dline is coming around with a lot of young players (herby can supply height, weight, and star ranking on request). So that just leaves Davis. If we can get rid of him we will be right back to where we have always been. The problem is, where we have always been is Kirk doing everything he can to let the other team back door their way into a victory.

The defensive line is not "coming around." We finished 112th in the country in sacks and lose our top pass rusher. We also had one of the worst rushing D's in my lifetime as an Iowa fan, yielding at least 199 yards in 5 different games.
