Couldn't be more serious when I say, Who gives a shit? Ferentz is still the head coach and will put a governor on the OC's engine. Whether it's a ferrari or a Toyota it will run like a Ford Focus.

You're not entirely wrong, but Davis was just an absolute mismatch with Kirk's scheme. His route tree and receiver development have been terrible his entire tenure here, and now we have a chance to get somebody who could craft an at worst serviceable passing game to match what can be at times a strong run game.

Bit surprised at the timing though. It may be for the best depending on how fast they hire new one and who it ends up being. Brian has to be the leader in the clubhouse for it... I don't think Davis retiring would hinder recruiting one iota leading up to signing day. So maybe that's part of the reason why now too.
