I was too young to remember games of Hayden Fry but this is all new to both teams, and Nebraska coming in as the new kid the first day of school. I understand many fans on both sides are excited nervous, and just wanting to see who becomes one anothers rival in all of this. I look forward to many great years of good games with sportsmanship and a foundation of respect between our programs. So as being a husker fan do you have any traditions for home games. I had to look up the name of your mascot it's Hurkey while ours is Herbie, thats going to be odd. Posting things on boards we call our self NU, well so does Northwesten, so there are going to be growing pains. I'm posting a link on here so you have an idea of what atmosphere is like on one of our home games, if someone has the same I would love to see it. I look forward to this Iowa and the Big 10 of many years of friendly banter thrown across the isle. Thanks

My friend VintageHawk posted this to another Husker fan earlier today. I think it sums it up pretty well. Welcome

Welcome.:) Be respectful and realistic when you're in our home, and you'll be treated in kind. Remember your history, but don't live in the past; keep your outlook current and toward the future. These are exciting times for everyone involved, and it is a HUGE privilege for Nebraska to be invited to join the Big 10.

And never lose sight of the fact that this forum features an "ignore poster" option.:D

Welcome Nebraska, just remember your history is the past, this is the new age and Iowa as long as Kirk Ferentz is the coach will be one of the top teams in the conference and country. Other then that welcome, and enjoy.

Welcome.

Awesome video, thanks for the laugh. I was waiting for Bo Pelini to do the moonwalk.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome Husker fans. Most of us have been looking forward to the day when this border rivalry would fire up once and for all.

It was a 10-6 victory over #6 Nebraska that ushered in the modern era of Iowa football. i was blessed to be there that day. We don't have the NC banners that Nebraska has but we have had a pretty respectable program going here for the past 30 years or so.

I think you will find most Iowa fans to be gracious, intelligent and extreemly passionate. I am certain that you will enjoy your first trip to Kinnick....that is of course until... well you get where I' m going.

At any rate, I think I can speak for a lot of Iowa fans when I say I am pumped to have Nebraska in the B10!!! Welcome!
