Not much to say but boy was I WRONG about him!!! VERY NICE TOURNAMENT GRANT!!!!! Glad you could prove all of us doubters wrong!!!!! Now build on it for next year!!!!!

Evans is one of my favorite of this up coming class and hope he finds his way into the lineup but if Grant wrestles like he did in this tournament it will be EXTREMELY tough for him to beat Grant.

I'm just wondering where all of those people are that thought he was done at Big 10's? I had to try to talk a lot of fans off the ledge on Grant during those threads...

The talent was always there with him and he finally started to realize it. The sky is the limit for this kid.

I'm right here and eating crow as well. Great job by Grant, would have been nice if he'd beat Wright. The are the same class, he'll need to figure out a way to beat him.

I'm eating crow big time.

That said, I still don't like Grant's style and approach to matches. All I care is that he wins, but he's definitely the most frustrating guy on the team. And I still think he's going to have a hard time holding his spot in coming years.

But he did his job at BTs and Nationals and that's what matters.

If this kid would "get it" and start wrestling and motivating himself like he needs to, he can be absolutely stellar.

My problems with Grant if someone cares:
- Lets people get on his legs all the time
- Isn't aggressive, tries to score defensively (many wrestlers do this, but not many IA ones)
- Often wrestles below his level and loses when he shouldn't
- Body language, seems like he doesn't care
*DSJ has a few of these traits as well and it makes me wonder if it's a West High thing. If Carew ends up being like this, i'm going to definitely think so. DSJ, however, has seemed to get a bit of a mean streak and is starting to shoot a lot more.

M* reincarnated...weigh in default to get 3rd place match. Had a nice match against Bosak. He has a long way to go to be elite. Crow won't be eaten for awhile.

Evans will be 174 before he sees 184

His parents post on the other board and have said his walking around weight is closer to 174

If someone would have told me a week ago that GG would beat Leblanc, Rutt, and Bosac this weekend there is no way anyone would have beleived it. Good thread to put on here.

Derek St.John lived up to his billing at the end of the season as well. I was always nervous last year when people had him pegged as an AA stuck in a redshirt, then got more nervous when he couldn't get his head right at midlands. But he wrestled great. He's always been talented as heck, but I thought that he fought every second of every match at big10 and NCAA's. Can't ask for more. He is closing the gap on Taylor, and imo he will get him.
