Gottlieb just said "Iowa very much in play still"

Watching gottlieb ask that question I was thinking he was asking that cause of us. That next segment just proved it. That guy really likes us which I guess is neat.

So knowing they won't make the tourney translates to me not wanting them to make the tourney? That's some awesome logic ya got there, pal. If you think it's an "opinion" that we aren't making the tourney, that's a YOU problem. If you want sunshines and rainbows, fantastic. But your butt is about to be really sore in about a day.

Also, there is a 1 at the end of my name, bud. Get it ******* right.

Wow.

The RPI is already covered with ****...

Yeah, but one group seems to utilize it strongly and they are the ones that matter. At some point they are going to figure out that it sucks and use it no longer. What better time for that than this year.

It's over guys. I love the hope but this team keeps breaking my heart. Time to focus on the joke that will be football season.

Only the football fans filling time until spring practice have this attitude. I'm a Iowa basketball fan 1st and a football fan a distant 2nd...although the gap was narrower during the Lick years. Anyway, I will be focusing on Iowa basketball until they are eliminated from the NIT (assuming no NCAA) while simultaneously watching the NCAA tournament as it progresses...not working this Thursday or Friday just like every other year.

This is what I was thinking. The only way Iowa has a chance is if this is the year the committee comes out and says "It's not all about RPI."

I highly doubt it happens though.

you are wrong.

Actually you are totally wrong and Hawkeye12345 is right. The talking heads do not decide the final teams. Iowa did finish alone in 6th place in the toughest conference in the country with a .500 record in conference and 21 wins overall. Iowa (not saying we since you're not an Iowa basketball fan) does have a very slim chance until Sunday night.

Hawkeye12345 - We are likely to be a 1 seed in the NIT. It assures us of 3 home games if we keep winning and there won't be anyone in the NIT the caliber of Indiana and Michigan State...only 2 teams to win at Carver this year. My guess is they will give us a 1 seed on merit and the fact that we will sell tickets to those 3 home games. This is my opinion FWIW.

I kinda like where we are now. We still have a chance to get in, but it won't be like a horrible injustice if we don't. What happens during the selection show either will be what is expected, or will be pleasantly surprising. One thing I like is that Bobinski indicated that KenPom is a valuable metric (we are currently 30th in Pom's ranking, ahead of many tournament teams and every bubble team but Virginia).
