After the Purdue game Iowa is going to consistently see better quarterbacks who are capable of picking apart a weak zone defense. They're going to need to clean things up and compensate for weaknesses some how or another, or the post season is going to get ugly.

Every time I see an opponent of Iowa's run a man through in motion to see if Iowa is in a zone or man-to-man pass defense, I laugh. All Iowa runs is zone pass defense. Maybe an all zone, passive pass defense worked 5 years ago in the B1G. And never worked against Joe Tiller's offense at Purdue in the early 2000s.

Funny thing is, NW carved us up a few times a while back too. Now they can't beat us? Did the Hawks change something or what, against them? That is all they do is short pass game.

Not saying that Iowa's defense played great against Minnesota by any means. However, did you realize that Leidner had more yards passing against the 3 previous opponents (Nebraska, Michigan, and Ohio State)?

Nebraska = 301 yards
Michigan = 317 yards
Ohio State = 281 yards
Iowa = 259 yards

Don't those other teams play man to man pass defense and blitz more than Iowa?

Hey don't confuse things with facts.

Minnesota is on the cusp of having a really good team. If it weren't for so many injuries they would be competing right up there with us for the West division title.

It didn't seem we didn't blitz much which gave Leidner so much time. If we could have knocked him around more it would have been different. Wish we had Ott.
