Gopher TE (from Iowa): "'I want to win this pig more than anything'"

Setting your sites on beating a bad Big Ten team is certainly setting the bar high.

Jeez it's hard to win when we are the best team on everyones schedule. They all want to beat us soooo bad. Makes it tough

At least some players in this contest have their passions and SIGHTS set on something. Only wish they were the ones wearing black and gold.

So, 5th super bowl so far this year?

It's funny that you have to say that because I find it funny that teams look forward to beating Iowa when they can, on the ther hand who is does ISU have besides Iowa to call a rivalry? In order to have a rivalry each team has to win some games against one another for the hatred to start, hence ISU has no real rivalry because ISU has sucked for a long, long time. So when Iowa plays Minny, ISU, Wisky, Nebraska any given year it has a trophy involved and when a trophy is involved there usually is a rivalry. When teams look forward to winning Ames rather than just kicking your *** then maybe you can talk a bit. Teams have to enjoy playing Iowa because it's an easy week of prep for them, just do what they did last year schem wise and they should be fine and coming out with a victory and a trophy is even better, but before you open your mouth just remember teams enjoy beating Iowa WHEN THEY CAN and a victory over ISU just doesn't count as much cause it's ISU......kind of the way I feel about playing ISU, if Iowa wins it's no big deal but when we lose it's a big deal because then ISU fans can wear their clothing for a few more weeks out of the year...congrats on that. When you get to a BCS bowl or a top tier bowl and win then maybe we can talk.

Your butthurt is coming out strong in this post.

So you think the Iowa players lack passion? Would you say that to Weisman's face? Or Hyde's? Or any of the players? Doubtful.

Seems like a cheapshot at the U of I players.

One of the dumbest things sports fans say to rationalize their team not playing well "It must because they aren't trying. It couldn't be because the other teams are out playing them, out strategizing them or are just flat out better. If we just try harder we'll start winning."

Come to think of it, that's the easiest problem to fix to. So on top of being wrong, saying your team isn't winning because they aren't trying is boring and lacks imagination.

Some guys play their whole career without playing in a Super Bowl. Iowa players play in one every week. That's got to be a great recruiting tool.

No a great recruiting tool is getting to play bowl games in Florida, Arizona or California, not Yankee Stadium or Boise, Idaho.
