Here are some comments on some of the lesser-discussed courses in the area. Feel free to add your thoughts.
Briarwood - Flat course. Always seems to be windy.
Waveland - Has the "Old Muni" Charm. Gets a lot of traffic, so can get a little worn, but worth at least 1 visit per year. Course name is appropriate. Small greens.
AH Blank - Nothing special, other than occasionally hearing a lion or tiger during your backswing.
Terrace Hills - Not bad for a lower end public course.
Coldwater - In enemy territory, but a chance to play a links-style course (sort of).
Toad Valley and Woodland Hills - Warning, these courses are favorites for the blue hairs. Be prepared for a long round.
Grandview - Been a long time since I've played there, but I seem to recall it being a pretty short track.
Willow Creek - Jorts and wife beaters are encouraged.
Deer Run and Shady Oaks - Basically, these are two dog tracks in the Indianola area, but play them once just to experience some of the quirky holes.
