Give ISU some credit for once

I agree with what you are saying but 0-2 does not give credit to closing out Xavier which in all honesty we had no business winning and Notre Dame which was tight down the stretch. A couple of FT misses or turnovers and we lose that one. Nova was almost a karma game considering how we stole the Xavier one. I would say we are 2-2 to date with many more to come.

Iowa played like crap against Xavier and could not hit the broad side if the barn, you are right they were fortunate to come away with the win but I do not call that a big game. Notre Dame was in Carver, a good win but they took care of business. But Villanova and ISU are ranked teams where they could have won but lost both at the end. To me those games are not on the same level.

Iowa plays Nebraska on New Years Eve, and I bet they play Iowa tough but that game will not be on the same level as at Wisconsin.

I think MG missing those two free throws is indicative of what Mad Fran's angry style of coaching does. Kids are afraid to make mistakes and they end up making mistakes because of it.

No offense, but that is just stupid.

if this game's played on a neutral court with neutral refs,Iowa wins by 5 or so but it was not. in a hostile environment like (Paris) Hilton Coliseum you aren't going to get a fair shake from the refs. go into the game knowing that. Control what you can control. Make open shots and make free throws down the stretch. Iowa did neither. ISU made their free throws the last couple of minutes. that turned out to be the difference in the game.

Congratulations to a good ISU team. They deserved the win. Iowa will not win many Big Ten games if it doesn't play tough from beginnig to the end of the game. If they continue to choke in close games they will end up in the middle of the Big Ten pack. They must keep the heat on their opponant in those closing moments.

I disagree. If they play like they played last night, they'll win a LOT of Big Ten games. Missing a couple of crucial free throws in one game does not change that.

I like Iowa States offensive philosophy, shooting 3 pointers or layups (I like Iowa's too). If you have the guys to do it, and they do, it's extremely effective. They are going to have a great year.
