Get the Lowdown on a Big Recruiting Weekend for Hawkeyes

I don't disagree that we got beat up front, but I also don't believe it was talent related, or measurable related (which is really what we are talking about with recruting). See 3-4 D problems with some games and a gimpy QB thrown in.

You can't teach speed and elusiveness, or straight toughness.

You don't think Stanford has more talent than us? Seriously? Please tell me you're joking.

Hey Rob. Any chatter from this weekend ? What's your crystal ball sayin. You think Fant sticks with us ? Either of these OT coming our way. Any other interesting stuff from the big weekend ? Thanks

MSU picks up an OT verbal from a weekend visitor so might be a little less threat from them for Jackson or Farniok for that matter.

We only had 2 starters on the offensive line playing in position (Blythe, Walsh) so yes, they struggled against a very ACTIVE front Stanford front 7, plus CJ played like **** and it wasn't because he didn't have time. He couldn't read and find anyone when he did in the first half and there were people open!
I don't give get too concerned about the Rose Bowl as far as talent level. Iowa just didn't show up. Who knows why. I've heard people playing hurt, people playing sick, etc... but KF or this team will never make any excuses. All I know is the team that was on the field looked NOTHING like the team we saw before this game. McCaffrey is outstanding but you have to attack him like NW did very successfully, not try to contain him which is what looked like the D's mentality was in the first half. It led to breaking down too early, not playing down hill/ back shoulder (which led to a lot of cutbacks) and punt team gunners not 'squeezing' him tight enough on that return. They all acted like they were afraid of him running outside of them, when his signature move is setting people up to cut back. He doesn't have exceptional straight line speed. Iowa's weak links all year in my opinion has been Fisher and Lomax (Lomax is the worst free safety we've had in the KF era) and I think we get better at those 2 positions next year, which makes this a top notch D next year.

I choose to believe the crystal ball now that it has both going to iowa.

Was as just going to post this..lets hope 247 is right..Farniok AND Jackson would be awesome..MSU just got a 4 star OL which helped us with Alaric

Oh okay so I get ripped for using the crystal ball as a recruiting resource but NOW that we finally get picked (by one person) on the crystal ball for a recruit it's all of the sudden acceptable for all. Got it. Exactly my point

I'm not ripping you. I think this shows how gimmicky it is though. He changed it because this was their most recent visit, he will probably change it again if they don't commit in the next couple days.

I don't think he changes it. It's really only telling if more recruiting analysts jump in and add predictions to Iowa. Otherwise I get your point about it being "gimmicky".

I just thought it was hilarious that exactly what I said would happen, happened. Right when Iowa finally gets picked on the crystal ball everyone freaks out with joy because it rarely happens.

They did exactly what you did. i don't see anyone who said it was gimmicky, now say it isn't. They are simply people like you who
might trust it more.

I was just joking because of what was already said in this thread. That said, I'm more excited that they're guessing Iowa than I was when they weren't.

This guy or girl reminds me of that kid in wedding crashers that screams he wants Uncle Jeremyto make him a bike.

Must admit when first read Wedding Crashers in your post I thought you were going to be referencing Kyle wanting to play Tummy Sticks with Jeremy. I was concerned.

I'm still upset "The Bonecrusher" Kyle Williams didn't stay commited to the hawkeyes...... why did he pick 37 years in jail over us! One of those players your glad never stuck with the hawkeyes!

I don't put much faith in this 'crystal ball' hoohacky, but if it helps, my 'saggy balls' tell me their both coming to Iowa;).
