Gesell and Clemmons going at each other

Good article. You guys have some good prospects at PG.

However, I am a bit surprised that Cole knows how much is in Gesell's package. :)
 
I cant remember the last time I have seen so much excitement about the basketball team during this time of the year.

With Fred getting things going in Ames this could turn out to be one hell of a rival game not just in Iowa but on a national level.

It has been years since there has been this much excitement, I believe we will be filling the stands at Carver again this season.....
 
Hoiberg had a good year, but I haven't really seen where he has sustained anything. It will be interesting to see how they do this year.
 
Clemmons & Gesell playing/practicing against one another is huge. They will both be much better for it, come the start of the season. Both should get good minutes, with a split at PG, and MG getting more minutes at the 1 and some at the 2. One of them will have to have more minutes at the 1 than the other. At this point it appears like MG has the lead, but Clemmons sounds like he will give him a run for his money down the road... Either way we should be in good hands, and that will be right out of the gates.

Nice article. It has me pumped for Hawkeye hoops. I cannot wait for basketball! We will be good this year, and I believe great in the years to follow. Fran is that good...

If Clemmons is good enough to give Mike a run for his money and Mike is as good as some are saying I could see them both ending up in the starting line up.

I'm not sold Josh O has the speed needed to defend the 2 spot at the Big 10 level. Time will tell... he was only a freshman so I'm sure his speed and defense will improve.

I'm impressed with how he has done thus far. We will have to see how losing their best player affects them this year. I wish them good luck except when they are playing us.
 
I like the comments about Fran near the end. We now seem to have a coach the players like playing for and they know he has their back. Should bode well for future recruiting.

This has already been said a thousand times, if not more, but damn am I excited for basketball season!!! I think these both of these guys are gonna be awesome and a great addition to the team.

Fran McCaffery hasn't had a good year yet NOR sustained anything.

Hoiberg's been there 2 years. How do you prove you sustain something if you've only had 2 years? At least he's won with the 2 years he's had.

I would consider last season a success, especially considering what Fran had to work with. I do agree with the last bolded part, but then you had to be a dick and let your little brother syndrome get in the way.

Great article. I don't expect much of anything from Clemmons the 1st two years offensively. I think he may give us a "bonus" bucket here or there, but he will be a good energy guy and help on defense for sure. He will actually be able to defend other teams PG's unlike Bryce.
