Gatens or Christopherson

Have you bothered watching the NBA since about 1989? How can you say no one gives a crap about defense in the NBA?

You obviously haven't watched an NBA game the last decade. NBA defense is impressive to watch. You don't play defense, you don't win. Just ask the Lakers after last night.

As for the OP's question, it's Gatens. Gatens gives you more size and a better defender. He's a better athlete as well but not by much. I think Scotty is a better shooter and handler but would be to short to be a SG in the NBA.

First of all, thats ridiculous, second neither Gatens nor Christopherson could guard anyone in the NBA.

Neither one will ever sit on an NBA bench.

Lighten up girls. When you come in to the NBA, you're pretty much expected to not be able to guard anyone unless you are the top of the top notch. My point is, if you can shoot the 3, then you have a chance to find a spot in the league. There are more than a handful of players in the NBA that have roles that play absolute matador defense. It's all about roles and matchups in the NBA.

I would have like to have had both players on my team. I think Matt would really have benefited having another 3 point threat on the court at the same time. I thought Scott was pretty effective getting to the rim.

Neither are really much of a finisher/scorer.
If you are talking about just getting buckets, I think Gatens is better.
But neither can get to the hole effectively. Matt did better his sr year, but overall really is not effective at all inside 8 feet... neither is Scott.

SC actually got into the lane decently IMO for not being that athletic.

He cant get all the way to the rim but he has a way of sliding past defenders in the lane and shooting runners and floaters.

Gatens did eventualy develop a nice pull up jumper but he never adapted any means of scoring in the lane.
