Gardner Webb vs Illinois

Just like they said after the game, this would have been a bad loss but it's a good win that you can build off of. I felt that way after our game.

It wasn't a good win. This is the second G-W game I have watched, and they are not impressive at all.

Agreed. Illinois fans have to be second guessing the Groce hire at this point. The Illini are a team that is trying to be competitive in the top league in the country. They cannot have games where they come out flatter than day old soda against mediocre competition. There is no reason the game should have been that close unless the staff completely failed to prepare the players.

I have absolutely no idea what you are saying here...really Iowa and Illinois are no different, both trying to accomplish the same goal, except Groce is in year one with a lot more talent to start off with.

Let see, Iowa plays GW and people say they are not good, Illinois plays GW and people say the same GW not good...at what point do you say Iowa/Illinois are not good with that analogy?

Illinois is undefeated and they may have taken GW lightly, but I highly doubt it after the way GW has played at UNC and Iowa...I could be wrong, but to not be ready for a team that has been competitive to this point is not smart.

It is amazing how many mid-majors upset major conference teams, but yet they still suck. Anybody can beat anybody in college basketball today, have we learned nothing for the last few year of Iowa basketball, but also the NCAA tournament with the successes of mid-majors, even though their bids have been declining?

If you aren't impressed with G-W that is fine, but to say they are "bad" or "not a good team" after they have competed the way they have against major conference teams thus far is not valid. If at the end of the season they struggle in their conference then fine, but remember in-conference teams know them better than UNC, Iowa, or Illinois.
