GameDay Ron Finally Closing Shop?

Someone posed as Ron and watched the forum burn for about a week. Troll hall of fame award. One guy chewed him out and pleaded for a refund and bashed and begged all to no avail. I was taken in , baffled that anyone could be so void of self awareness. Two years later someone fessed up.

What is going on here is a demonstration of why Millennial punks shouldn't be allowed to moderate fora such as this. GameDayRon, or GDR as he was known to his friends, was a mainstay on HawkeyeNation dating all the way back to the Scout days.

Ron created a revolutionary shaving system that big razor wanted suppressed. He had a proprietary oil blend that would extend the life of razors. Gillette was scared shitless of the guy because if people used his system, called Revolt LL225 (IIRC), a man could have shaved every day for five years with just one razor. You see, what causes a blade to degrade is the water it is rinsed out with. It makes the blade rust and wear out.

Revolt would have changed the world, as it was even considered by the military because it would have allowed shaving with NO WATER in remote locations in the desert. You can only surmise how bad big razor wanted this guy shut down.

There were many naysayers on the board about the efficacy of the product. To silence them, GDR sent one poster, I believe it was CPOHawkeye, a nuclear submarine operator from the Navy who still posts from time to time on the Wasteland, a free sample of Revolt. CPO's review was basically "I'm pretty sure this product is just off-brand baby oil repackaged in GDR's bottle." It went over like a fart in church on Easter Sunday. GDR called him out, got dogpiled and quit posting.

Nailed it. But, was GDR way ahead of all of us? That is the question.

Putting the fear of God into the BIG market was genius as he prob got paid $$$$$$$ to shutter it. Yes, we all know the BIG market razor manufactures play is to sell us those 7 blade cartridges that plug up every 3 swipes for $55 a box. It's the same revenue model comparable to PlayStation banking on the revenue of the games and not so much the console.

When GDR came by an manufactured (bottled the baby oil-Shhh!!) the magical solution to extend the life of the blades out ot 5 years, this put chills up those major market razor execs backs, and to say the least, ........................... as OK4P likes to eloquently state on occasion "made their asses pucker". They apparently got out their checkbooks and prob wrote GDR a big ole check, because we haven't seen him around for years.

He's prob laid out relaxing on the Malta islands sipping on Blue Hawaiians people. Ends up the jokes is on us as we continue to lurk in the abyss that is .......................HawkeyeNation.
