Gameday in Lincoln...

I went over to Huskerboard, same delusional arguments going on, they can still win the West was one of the threads. It is going to be more entertaining when NW goes in and kicks their ass. They are already dismissing them. They still think like Big 8/12ers. They need to be ready every game in the Big 10, unlike the Big 8/12 where they only needed to beat one team...OU and later two OU/Texas. They don't get it. They can recruit all the 4/5 star recruits that they want at the skill positions, but if they don't have the beef on the lines.....well they'r

I love the BTN crew glorifying Nebby after the game. What a bunch of fucking idiots.

And it continued on their end of games show. They spent most of the show talking about the Ohio State Nebraska game. They are so desperate to make Nebraska relevant.

The weird thing is there was a time in the Osborne glory years when they were routinely producing Outland trophy winning offensive linemen, their fullback was stronger than any linebacker on the field, and their strength and conditioning program was considered state of the art. They manhandled teams from a physical standpoint, first and foremost from a physical standpoint. Articles written in "Muscle and Fitness" type magazines about Nebraska's weight training program adorned the walls of every high school weight room in the Midwest.

What happened to those days? How did they allow themselves to fall so far behind the curve? Or better yet, were extra shenanigans involved that allowed them to get so big and strong?

OK, I'll bite. Which record was that? By the way, I agree with the poster who said that pickins' were pretty slim for good venues for GameDay last week. That said, I still think Kalamazoo, Michigan would have been a better choice, for the "directional Michigan" shoot-out (Western beat Central).
They were thinking they were going to break the record for the most people to attend the Gameday show. Instead, they broke the record for the biggest loss by a Gameday host school.

To ask the question is to answer it. When discussing Nebraska players, "Cornfed" meant "injecting the same shit Lyle Alzado took except in slightly lesser quantities so as not to cause death."
Lyle was an idiot. Steroids didn't give him brain cancer.

Your local Five Guys would have been a better Gameday stop than Lincoln, Nebraska.

And the burgers would have tasted better too.

Back in those days there were more scholarships and Nebby had one of the best walkon programs in the country. And walkons were unlimited and I heard from football followers that their local county Nebby booster clubs would raise money to help pay these kids' tuition. Nebby just stockpiled big, strong linemen to go play football there.

Those days have been over for awhile as scholarships have been reduced and I believe walkon numbers have been reduced. And agencies like the NCAA wont let 3rd parties help pay tuition.
