Game Preview, Prediction: Hawkeyes Look to Keep it Rolling Against ISU

I PREDICT - a low scoring grinder of a game. It will be maddening for Iowa fans to watch the offense struggle ....again. however we'll be pleased with the defense.

A key turnover makes the difference. Winner wins by < 3

total O/U 30 points.

All of you guys are wrong, unfortunately.

This is the best Iowa vs. little brother in the universe. Feel free to share with friends and family, and you can thank when you finally catch your breath. It's NSFW for you snowflakes out there. No bitching since I warned you.

Behold...

That song may have made that the greatest highlight video I've ever seen! So perfect for little brother!!!

Isn't Good-Jones switching from center to left tackle. Switching to the outside takes a bit of getting used to even if you are good.

That's why the outside linemen in the NFL are the highest paid linemen. They have to be the most athletic. The ones on the inside can be athletic and it's an advantage but it isn't as necessary. That's why moving from guard or center to tackle is so difficult. One doesn't just decide one day "I'll be a tackle now"; it takes a lot of work.

Iowa's big offensive line should be able to establish dominance on the line of scrimmage. If they do that the running game will kill ISU. That's Iowa's game. Control the clock wear down the defense. On defense Iowa needs to keep pressure on the QB.

Montgomery. Given Iowa's linebacker play last week, Montgomery is a big concern. If the linebackers are out of position Montgomery can take it to the house. Establish the run and it's a long day for Iowa. If Iowa State's QB has time to throw Iowa will have trouble containing Butler. Double Butler and it opens up the other WR and their standout TE. Iowa has one of the better defensive lines in the country, this is were they need to show it.

Overall I expect Iowa to look better since this is their second game. Iowa needs to exploit Iowa State's first half, first game jitters and get a decent lead by the half. Then control the clock in the second half.

Iowa wins by 7.

Hawks Win....Players Hawk Tough...Quit not an OPTION...Go Hawks!

The difference in this game is ISU’s offense. They are built to score a lot of points, and can exploit Iowa’s vulnerable areas on defense. Hawks have a good d-line, but since ISU’s qb throws the ball quickly, the d-line superiority will be a non-factor.

ISU offense > Iowa defense. Iowa offense less than or equal to ISU defense. The advantage Iowa has of already playing a game is negated by ISU having game film on Iowa from last week. Homefield advantage lessened by fact there will be a lot of ISU fans in the stands. Emotional factor: I give the advantage to ISU.

I think this will be ISU’s best team since 2002....maybe better. Iowa’s lack of a passing game puts them at a huge disadvantage. ISU wins this by double digits.

I disagree with this: The advantage Iowa has of already playing a game is negated by ISU having game film on Iowa from last week.

The advantage is rooted in execution and knowing what you need to work on...who's ready and who's not. ISU does not have this.

ISU's so called advantage of having a game on film means little - Iowa's offense is the same as it was last year..easy to look at 13 games from last season. 1 more game does not mean all that much.
