This was a great game for the Hawks to win heading into conference play. The opposing team comes in with a 9-3 record and goes toe-to-toe with the Hawks for essentially 36 minutes. They forced the Hawks to break a solid press down the stretch and earn the victory at the line where the Hawks had a few struggles late in games last year so yet another confidence booster.

I was hoping for a shot of Basabe loading up for his MJ dunk from the free throw line. That was one of the more awkward Mel moments to date. He had every intention of tomahawking that thing through the floor, but ended up about a foot short. He did a great job of swatting shots last night and appears to have his legs back.
