Fuss'in and *****'in

Yes I've been fussing and bxitching. I've been guilty of a lot of negativity on the forum lately. I've administered last rights and pronounced this team dead. At the end of the day, I want to enjoy my Saturday. So the best way for me to do this - given what I can control - is to simply get rid of my expectations, sit back and enjoy college football.

Here are the things that I can't control.

Who the AD is
Who they schedule
What time the games are
Who the HC is
Who the HC hires
Who the staff recruits
The plays they call
When they call time out
The outcome of the games.

Outside of that, I exert a ton of influence on the iowa football program.

Good conclusion. If a few more would come to that same conclusion, this board would become tolerable to read again. It's not all candy and roses when it comes to Iowa football, but the constant whining about things that not one of us has any control over makes for some boring reading.

Is "fuss'in and [asterisk]'in" the same as "tossin' and turnin'? If so, good for letting go, NC. Hope I can follow yer lead, cuz, I couldn't sleep at all last night.

Even though I know better the close football season comes the more excited I get. I always expect Iowa to win and until 2 or 3 years ago we always had a chance because we were within one score of winning or losing. Now if we're losing towards the end of the game I expect to lose. Since our offense is never allowed to try to win games at any time it's hard to turn it on in the last two minutes.

Do I want Iowa to win...yes. Am I angry when they **** it down their leg either through bone head plays on the field or decisions on the sideline...sure, and it bothers me for awhile. Yes...I yell at the TV...alot. But those of us on this board that headhunt KF and Barta...well...that's a waste of time. Eventually performance catches up to all if us if we don't meet expectations. KF, IMO, has used up a ton of goodwill and, unless he turns it around by 2016, he's gone. 7-6 this year and next will not save his job. It won't. He's on too many hot seats and there has been too much discussion around money and how much of it he banks.

It will be interesting as I think if this year doesn't go well and we collapse again at the end the season. Barta will start to distance himself (he has already started a bit with some of the rhetoric). Barta will start throwing cargo out of the plane, but he knows the plane is still too heavy and going down. He will then say, "How bout them Hawks" and chuck KF out the cargo hold. That's the only way he lands this thing.

I've walked out on a lot of 4th qtrs over the past 5 years.
