funny NU fans

So I was checking out some Nebraska sites and find it funny that most (not all) of thier fans think they are just going to roll the big ten. Most of them think OH is thier only competition. I think they should #1 look at thier offence, then #2 look at how the B10 teams defence stacks up against the teams they have been playing. I am not saying they wont do well, but they are talking winning B10's first conf champ game and a possible run at the NC. I cant see fielding a sec type team (small and fast) against big ten teams week in and week out and having any sort of sucess. I think by the time Iowa plays them next year they will be down to 3rd string in several positions.
Just my thoughts.

Considering they couldn't roll their own conference last season, I'll take that with a grain of salt.

They're like Vikings fans, they think they're going to win it all every year. And not that they have a shot, they actually think they SHOULD and if anything else happens someone or something is screwing them.

I can't wait : )

I'm not sure where you've been looking, but from what I've seen, most Nebraska fans feel that we can win our division and play for the Big10 Championship. Most feel that we will stumble 2-3 times along the way. There are a few who feel that we will roll, some predict that we will go 6-6. But where we come from, winning a conf. championship (most years) automatically puts you in discussion for the MNC.

Alot depends on what happens on the offensive side of the ball. If we can gain some sort of consistency and maybe find an OC who has a clue, we should be in good shape. I am interested to see how our brand of football fits into the Big 10 on a week by week basis. Bo built this team to compete for Big 12 and M. National Championships, so it's gonna be interesting to see how it plays out, that's for sure. Anything less than competing to be the best is disappointing.

One thing is for certain, the Big 10 schedule maker wanted to make sure to get the most out of Nebraska and to make our track as difficult as possible in our first 2 years in the league.

So frickin tired of hearing about the tough schedule.... get over it. Look at Iowa's 09-10 schedule. It's do-able. It's serving as nothing but an excuse if they fall, and a reason for more chest beating if they do well.

I don't think that's how Vikings fans think at all. I for one thought we would finish 3rd in the North. I was wrong.

I'm not saying that it is too hard, of course it's do-able. There is not one team on our schedule that strikes fear in the team. I think that the Big 10 would have been better off making the schedules more balanced, much like the Big 12 did when it was formed. It would ensure that a team will have an equal amount of quality games in each year, instead of having 6 good ones one year, and 2 the next. Much more friendly to the fans that are buying tickets, too.

But I believe that it was Delaney who said that they wanted to do what they could so that we wouldn't pull off a PSU from 1994. He also saw a new cash cow and wanted to exploit it. Can't blame him for that.

I could be completely wrong, but I highly doubt Delaney would say that they didn't want to pull off a PSU from 1994. He doesn't seem like a guy that would operate like that.

Penn St has averaged 1 less win per season since joining the B10.
I expect similar #'s from Nebraska over time.

As for next season, I'd say they're likely to win more games than they lose in conference.
I'd also say they are capable of winning any game on their schedule but could lose 3,4,5 games also. Similar to what realistic Iowa fans think of their team.

I've been saying for a while now, that schedule isn't as tough as it looks on paper. Those will all be very different teams next year.

Nebraska fans thinking they will roll through the Big Ten?!?

Wow, I find that really hard to believe.

(sarcasm)

Not to mention their toughest game will be Ohio State, At home, and will be the first game back from suspension for Pryor and the boys.

I think Nebraska fans will be in for a rude awakening as the Huskers stake their ground in the Big 10 Conference. The Huskers will definitely be toward the top most, if not all years, but the going won't be easy.

I think most Husker fans still think this is the 80s and Osbourn is the coach. Nebraska today is not the Nebraska of yesteryear. Teams don't fear Nebraska like they may once have done.

Definitely a great addition to the conference. But any fan who think the Huskers are going to come into the conference and dominate is delusional.

I think it's pretty interesting to see y'all's takes. Kindof funny to see some of you say that "Nebraska ain't gonna roll, this ain't the Big 12 North" while some of you are saying "That schedule isn't that tough, quit whining." We all know that Delaney tried to pit Nebraska against all of the "greats" of the Big 10.

That being said, I don't think that there is a game on our schedule next year that we can't win. I also think that there are 4-6 that could be possible pitfalls.

Realistically, this team could be anywhere from 13-0 to 6-6. If they perform like they did in 2010, a 3 loss season with a couple of good wins and close losses seems reasonable.

Personally I have spent some time on the Scout Nebraska board and it isn't filled with too much bravado. They seem like any other fan base that has high expectations, but they have earned that right. Now admitedly I haven't been on any other Nebraska sight, and I don't live in the western portion of the state so I haven't had any dealings with the more obnoxious portion of their fanbase, but by in large they seem ok for now. I'm sure that will change as November draws nearer and our showdown in Lincoln approaches...the rivalry will definitely heat up. But I still find ISUcks fans to be the most obnoxious and delusional fanbase in the world at this point. Now as far as how they will do in the Big 10? I don't see them playing in the inaugural Big 10 CCG, but I think they will wind up with a nice New Years Day bowl.

I wasn't saying they are obnoxious, just saying I think they have very high hopes. As was stated in another post I made, they think Martenez (? sp) is all that and well Robinson can out run him and some of the LB's we recruited are almost as fast and 30 to 40 pounds bigger, well all I have to say is WELCOME TO THE B10! As for who they play, give me a break, we all been playing each other for over a hundreed years now. Tough schedule, Hmmmmmm, go back to mamby pamsby land than. I am glad they are B10 now but reallly NU is not the NU of years past.
